Sonic could already fight with a lot of combos and he has a skill tree, so he will be the one fighting instead of the werehog.There are rumors now that they might include hyper sonic in the game and also when you unlock super sonic which is in the middle of the game then you’ll be able to transform when you reach a certain amount of rings and I hear that it lasts a long time

I remember playing unleashed and having a bad time with the werehog, it was extremely boring and repetitive... Same enemies, same music everytime I fought, night stages were a torture to me

Because it's a slower, less fun gameplay style. And it didnt always have the best design. Not to mention Unleashed is where they finally make Sonic fun to play again, but more than half the game is taken up by slow platforming and debatably tedious combat.

Hmm… I kinda beg to differ. These “Sonic Eras” appear to be based on the English voice actors. Ever since Roger Craig Smith became Sonic, it was pretty much the beginning of the “Meta Era”. I think if Jason and the 4Kids gang were all still around, we would still be in the “Dark Era” right now. I don’t like these Sonic Eras the fanbase created, by the way. To me, it only did more harm than good to the franchise…

WHY do people keep doing this to werehog? He is cool I like him, he shouldn't be removed, it's alright tho, I know he's a bit slow, but not slow as a real werehog, he is still pretty fast. Also don't forget that the opposite of sonic would be slow instead of fast, so yeah its like yin yang.

Although normal sonic at both day and night is better, I still think you should have kept the details, like keep the day time sonic look but keep the spiked shoes, the curved ears and the fur look.

The werehog had a cool design but if Sega designed it’s gameplay loop as more inspired, it could have been a great addition to Unleashed. Seems like Sega is revisiting the concept of combat in Sonic again but with Sonic base abilities in mind rather than being a God of War clone.

I would've hated this idea because The Werehog is so unique and a welcome change to the usual things Sonic does. I like playing as Sonic the Werehog in The Night Locations and we need Shadow Sonic and Silver becoming Werehogs too as well and all three are playable.
