A bit of clean up work on my new Gardenia, then it it's into the high technology for the greenhouse with Solar Powered Fans!
I end the video with updates on some of the bonsai that have been worked on recently.
Thanks to Tom from the KZbin channel "Grow and Clip Bonsai for Seniors"

do a temp test before and after installation of the fans in the greenhouse to see, and careful with the misting with the lithops (rock succulents) they really like to be dry as a bone, green house looks absolutely fantastic 👍

The cuttings are looking great, Nigel, can't get over how big and lush the pine tree succulents and the aeoniums have gotten! The aeoniums' parent plant is suffering again, think I either overwatered or underwatered. It didn't help that there were mealy bugs on the base of the trunk and branches either! All looking great on your end though, keep it up! - Ashley Bonner

Whew, I thought now you are going to chop the gardenia down - even the one flower it has. Thank God that didn't happen. I remember vaguely that it reads in my old houseplant book that gardenias are difficult to grow. I guess they need a cool season, so that's why they may suffer as houseplants. You really got the gardenia with a good price. It will be interesting to follow that one. I can't believe there are restrictions for selling plants grown from cuttings. I have never heard of such rules before. I understand it from a copyright perspective of course, but who is going to supervise that and how? Maybe there are raids to commercial nurseries? Informers denouncing guerrilla growers? One would think that the plant scene was peaceful, but maybe not anymore. Oh my!
@TheBonsaiZone
@TheBonsaiZone 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, that's the first I've heard of this! I'll try and keep the Gardenia in good health and develop a nice canopy. Maybe I'll just work on one small section at a time to keep the plant vigorous.

I have a gardenia bonsai, but it did not lose any leaves over the winter. I live in Florida and the temperature just gets in the 50s. All the leaves have turned a dull brownish color but the leaves are still tight. Should I defoliate all of them or leave them be. I do have one new green leaf. Please help…
