Finally some work on the olive! I’ll be waiting here for the spring repotting! Thanks Nigel!

Nice pruning on the olive. The ficus is cool and will grow into a treasure come spring. Interesting curve to the trunk of the CE. I like the panda in the background enjoying the shade of the day in the cool grass.

The lithops are amazing! And good for you, letting the spider stay in its web.

Looks like fall is upon us...I like the look of that olive but they are not readily available here in the PNW, like so many potential trees...The tree looks great in that pot...What type of Olive Tree is this? Excellent narration on the Ficus...Very helpful...Great updates also...Thanks for sharing...

I’m very interested in your approach to the Olive Europa. I’ve been learning a lot with mine, and now learning more from your keen perspective. Appreciate you, good sir!

Thanks Yeti, lots of growing to do on this tree!!

Ho Nigel, if I can give you a tip with Elm ? You have to prune him more often. Then he will grow faster and you have much better branches. But when I say more often, that is every few weeks.

Those lithops are fire 🔥

You used the knob cutter for heavy pruning on the olive. Is that always the preferred tool? I think I rely too much on the concave cutter, which I think can be prone to blade break, especially if you twist while cutting. Thanks.

Enjoyed the video as usual. On a recent video you showed your tote about 1/2 full after a rain storm, about 600 liters if I recall correctly. Curious to know how much rain you received for that much collected rain. If possible could respond in inches bit cm is fine too.? Also curious how much rain after this storm too. Also curious the surface area to collect the rain. Thanks again.

Hello, My cube that I collect the rainwater in, gets water from three sloped roof tops. In a good heavy rain storm lasting about two hours, I generally get my cube half full. I'm not sure what our rain fall is, I've never really measured it!

How is going with your Pinus Plasticum? 🙂

Inhave to ask...how much do you think you've spent on pots ,are you picky with signed artisan or just go for the look no matter where the pot comes from?
@TheBonsaiZoneАй бұрын
I try and just buy second hand pots, many are cracked, but still work well!! The pots do add up, but if you are not showing trees, any garden pot will do!
@johnmccauley101Ай бұрын
@TheBonsaiZone I love the pots as much ad I love the trees unfortunately around it is slim pickings for bonsai pots but I do my thrift store rounds almost every week and have managed to pick up quite a few and ordered a few online from Japan, way costly but amazing pots.

Does the olive tree need a time of dormancy, or can I put mine in a south facing window n the kitchen?
@TheBonsaiZoneАй бұрын
Keep it outside as long as you can before the frost comes, then move it inside to as cool a window as you can!
@dahlmasen3084Ай бұрын
They like a little cooler dormancy period but if they keep their leaves they’ll like quite a bit of light during the winter

@@TheBonsaiZone Yikes, frost is nearly reaching us in the Twin Cities in Minnesota today. Not ready for this. It's just too soon.
