Hi Nigel, if it's a Eucalyptus gunnii 'Azura' than it would be able to survive outdoors too about -25c. Here in the Netherlands they grow magnificent, some of the fastest growing trees that i have ever seen.

Yes, Eucalyptus is grown a lot for paper industry. It has short fibers, so it is good for paper tissues, toilet paper and such.

Hello Nigel, for the first time I'm contacting you, although I've been watching your videos for more than two years and I share your vision of this art and we also have many species in common. For 35 years I have planted trees and have them in pots with grow and cut , with a management similar to yours, without wiring. Many times I saw something you showed and I was going to tell you about my experience, but in the end I didn't. This time, when you showed that you bought a Pillea microphyla I made up my mind. This little succulent has tiny flowers that spread thousands of seeds in summer. In many of my potted trees they multiplied and carpeted the ground. That is something I like because it contributes to the miniaturization of the landscape and, since they do not have deep roots or large water requirements, add instead of subtract. But in your case, that you are always removing the "weeds", I warn you that if you place it in your greenhouses, in a short time they will colonize the surface of all the surrounding pots. Until next time and good luck in The Bonsai Zone!
@TheBonsaiZone2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Patricio, I'll move it out of the greenhouse, it sounds like it could be a problem!!

I don't think it would survive the winters there. Even the hardiest varieties' danger zone is -12° to -23 C°, and surviving that lower temperature would be lucky even for an established tree.
