I discovered your channel today, Lucy, and it’s WONDERFUL! Thank you for being so generous and helpful in sharing your experiences of writing and publishing a book. May I ask a question please - do you have any tips on the writing process itself? What do you do to get the words flowing? You briefly mentioned music and a playlist in your last video. I ask because I have a diagnosis of Complex PTSD. It’s my childhood dream to write - to become a writer - but my psychologist has said that it will be difficult to activate the right, creative hemisphere of my brain. She’s suggested that I start by writing poetry (instead of prose) and listening to music. It would be fascinating to hear about how you access your creativity. Thank you again, x P.S: We’ve recently moved to Bath and it’s such a glorious city. I would love to go to the Regency Festival next year. I’ve always wanted an excuse to buy a bonnet for myself…! 😂

Welcome to my channel and thanks for your comment! Thanks for your question :) I think the best way to get the words flowing is to break up your writing time into 'sprints'. I usually will write in 25/30 min bursts, before having a 10 min break. Also try to take the pressure off - if you're struggling getting started, just tell yourself to write for 15 mins, then you can stop. Sometimes the issue is getting started! Once you've gotten over the initial 'starting' phase, where the words don't flow and it feels quite clunky, usually I find the flow a bit easier. Hope that helps! x

Looks very fun! I would love to learn to dance like that, despite the fact I get disoriented easily.
