I sat down with Detective Cody Lougy who was on the case when it reopened in 2010. For years, as a family, we have wondered and speculated about what happened to him. The detective put a lot of it to rest for us. I wanted to know what rumors were and weren't true.
Reed Jeppson is my Uncle, my Dad's brother (born May 28, 1949, disappeared October 11, 1964) was an American teenager who disappeared along with his two dogs as he walked them on the afternoon of October 11, 1964.[2] Despite an extensive search and media coverage (including renewed attention in the early 2010s), neither Jeppson nor the dogs have been located. Some of the family believe that he was groomed, and murdered by a neighbor, who was a prominent doctor in the valley. Others believe differently.

Girl, I love you, your sense of humor, your sense of right and wrong. I’m with you 97% of the time. Because I respect all your trying to do in this sketchy world we live in. I only saw one quick picture at the very in. You and your family know what he looks like but we don’t. Never the less it was nicely produced!! And I think your hair and outfit looked cute!!!! ❤ I think the neighbor did it!!! Very sad situation. I wish they could have had the police dogs go in that doctor’s house to see if they picked up Reeds smell. If he lived next door he had been watching him for a while. Very sad situation. And he should not have been able to take a 2nd test. He probably to 20 anxiety meds on the 2nd test to calm down. I’m so this happened but Jesus will get that bad man!!

More police officers & detectives should meet with families of cold cases like this. Beautiful interview & it really felt like they have the best of intentions. Murder or runaway absolutely seems like the only possible scenarios to me. It seems very difficult for 3 bodies to disappear at once based on an accident. I know its difficult, but would really like to know if anything was found or searched in the Neighbor's house during renovations. If a violent crime had been committed, it seems likely that thered be some evidence left behind: whether that be underneath the floor/carpet, or in that locked room. Theres too many coincidences to ignore the neighbor theory imo. A boy disappears with his 2 dogs, the neighbor is an offender, the boy fit his target age, & 2 sets of animal remains fitting the general size of his dogs were found buried on the neighbor's property. There were also clearly many oddities in the house. He also failed the voice stress test. Id love to know if they do feel this is solvable. It really seems like that neighbor/house has the answers.

It must be so hard for you and your family not to know what happened to your uncle, and also to being able to lay him to rest properly. Hopefully one day you and your family will know, and give you peace. Prayers for your family.

I've heard about this case from another missing persons channel, but did not know he was related to you. This scares me a lot. I have a 15 year old son with autism and YM campouts are coming up and it would be soo devastating and shattering to have something happen to him. My brother passed from suicide and you may not want to answer, but I've wondered when I see him again if I can ask him why or if I shouldn't. When you see your uncle I'm wondering if you're going to ask what happened to him that took his life.
