6:44 that hairy guy in Barbarella is Ugo Tognazzi. He was a comedian who later turned to dramedy and even straight drama. He was a HUGE deal in Italy. I'd say that, from the early 60's to the early 90's, there were just five truly A list leading men, in Italian cinema, and he was one of them. They all tried, at different times and generally little to moderate success, to make it in Hollywood. Barbarella was his try. I didn't like him that much, but he surely had more to him than you would say from his role in that film.

I haven't seen this movie since I caught a free screening of it in Mexico City back in 1981. I'm pretty sure it was some freebie thing put on by the local parks and rec equivalent, in the Tlatelolco area. FUN FACT: If my memory is correct (which I think it is, even though I was 7 when I went there), the theater they screened it in was near the site of the tragic Tlatelolco Massacre of 1968, where the Mexican Armed Forces opened fire on a bunch of civilian protestors. WAIT NO THAT'S NOT FUN AT ALL Anyway, thanks for inadvertently bringing back a good memory. Of going to the movie, I mean, not...not of the massacre.
