Been to Dan Tana's a few times when I was stationed at Pendleton...the food is unreal but yes, everyone is an ass lol totally worth it though.

I live three blocks from Rao's in East Harlem. I love listening to you guys but you're horrendously off base on the characterization of the neighborhood; I had more nonsense with my car being vandalized and packages being stolen living on the (much, much wealthier) Upper West Side than over here by a long shot. Working people live here and raise their families and participate in a lovely community. We walk around at night all the damn time. Rao's is great because it's part of the old tapestry of the neighborhood, like Patsy's on first avenue (which is definitely worth a visit). To have it in a different setting (more upscale, private, safer-feeling) would diminish it.
