Hello and welcome back to a new polymer clay time lapse sculpting demo, where I make a very cool looking snail in gorgeous 4k time lapse video! I'm going to be doing a follow up video on this in the future... I want to try my hand again with the airbrush, but for now, this has been baked for 60 minutes at 275º degrees and is ready for further painting/touches.
...I'm NOT in a hurry to do a follow up on this Snail quite yet because I want to attempt making a Star Wars AT-ST (the one with 2 legs) How cool would that be? Now is the time to subscribe if you're not already.. it would mean so much to me if you did...
108 gigabytes of video was used, sifted through, and then was narrated. It took over 6 hours to mix this video down just once, I also have to do a pre mix (missing audio) first, so I can then narrate the video using another device.. Reason I'm saying all this is it's taking alot longer to make videos due to outdated computer, but that's not the reason, entirely, for the lack of videos... I don't do much for the holidays. So when I start this NEW project I don't know have fast I can go. Even though my computer is outdated, and there's no way to sample 4k video that doesn't stop me from uploading a beautiful 4k video.
So in short, I'm back! ..but I'll try to go as fast as my tolerance to this ol' PC's performance will allow.
I haven't gave up on you guys, and thank you so very much for not giving up on me!
Thanks for taking the time to watch, and to read this. Like always, it means the world...

Feedback: the snail’s body overall is good, but the face part isn’t too realistic. Please don’t take this as negative feedback, im just a big snail geek that knows a lot about them and I want people to know more about snails too so yeah but good vid 😉

This is absolutely amazing. It looks so realistic (said by a snail owner). Did you leave it like that or did you use some sort of glue to attach the shell? And does the clay become hard after a bit or does it stay soft like that?

Here's a little hint for you- You were worried about the one shell being thin- Try soaking it in white glue and a little water... for a couple of days and then let it dry.. it will absorb the glue and end up being much stronger!

Hi I really like your video I did the snail with sculpey white clay it was not perfect but i like it its the second sculpture one I do. I hope that with more classes I take I will get better. I did not use the softing stuff you did, but when I put in oven it burn in 20 min's. I notice you did not bake yours. I follow the sculpey clay instruction. what did I do wrong? Olga Alvarez

Missed you too! I love your work and this is incredible! I want to watch it again. I am weird though and I love the little land snails that are plentiful around here. I so need to try one of these (or more) for myself. As I said I really love those little land snails. :D I have lots of pictures of them and one really good one taken using Macro. :) My only complaint about them is when they end up underfoot. I never like hearing that crunch sound as I am walking through the yard. :P I wince whenever I hear it. I read about your computer. You should build yourself a new one! :D I did a few years ago and I will never go back to buying one off the shelf again. - Heidi

+BlackCat2 Actually I'm considering ordering some baby African giant ...snails? Well, they get big and If I made a really nice place for them I'd film them all the time The thought of 4k and optimal lighting just where you need it.. and the face of the tank I guess would have to come off so I can get close with the camera. I still need lots of practice with that thing. I had a bad experience trying to replace my CPU in my computer... I order a nice CPU and installed 2 of them (ya I return the one and tried another lol) but later learned it was my bios out of date. Well if I mess with that it's gonna turn into a brick for sure =D So I gave up on trying to build one. But I never tried from scratch.. not sure if a new motherboards comes with updated bios or not. Obviously I'm a noob I was thinking of getting a pre owned workstation I've seen them as low as 399 and it had a i7. That might be easier I think. And you you can watch this video as many times as you want, thank thank you! :D

Polymer Clay Artist Thank you. I will watch it and your other videos as often as I wish. :D You should do just fine building your own computer. The hardest part is ordering the parts but putting them together is easy. I used NewEgg for everything except the power supply. I will be building another computer either this year or next so I will be using NewEgg again. :) My son watched me build my computer and he said it was just like working with Lego's and he is right. Everything has a place it snaps into and you just have to make sure it goes together right. :D Having some large snails sounds cool! I would feel bad though that they were not living in the wild sometimes. I know that is weird but I am weird. I accepted that a long time ago. *grins* I do hope you will take video if you do get them. :D
