I really appreciate the authenticity of this show, i have traveled and done many of the activities they are doing in this show and the emotional roller-coasters that fill trips like this they do a very good job when they edit down there videos and i really believe they give viewers a real idea of the trip, i hope people dont think they can actually accomplish more than traveling a a week or two max with $1000, maybe if you have a youtube show and connections with spots to stay who also will pay to feed you like half the time, with that said latin america is filled with some of the best most amazing people in the world, i feel like ive met lina in pescadero a few years back but that was a very blury few months i lived in baja sur, this show is better than any show on tv like survivor or whatever fake reality shows exist today, this is an authentic non scripted show thats real and doing something that most people will never consider but opening others eyes to the real world not just whats on news about places is something we need more of. Im a huge fan i appreciate all you guys do, REAL SUPPORTERS DONT SKIP ADDS THEY RIGHT CLICK OPEN IN NEW TAB THE ADDS. A FREE WAY TO SUPPORT THOSE YOU LIKE!

I'm from Guatemala and I can tell you that the "danger zone" wasn't dangerous at all in "our standards", Metallica played right there on Nov 3, 2016, there are more dangerous places you already visited like the Mexican border, and there are gangs but not in that place, zone 18 maybe and they can tell apart people who can steal or extort from, from foreign hitchhikers. In other note, you all missed a lot of cool places, Atitlán was a must, here is a video I recorded the day this video was published: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qIuQm3uNfKegeJI
@TheBudgeteers8 жыл бұрын
hey :) Thanks for the comment - We only talk from our own experiences and from our interactions from the people we met on location. If they were wrong about that place then that's one thing but we couldnt take the risk and we only told our story as it unfolded to us. And yes, Mexico is known for being more dangerous but like we say, we can only relay our own experiences as they happen to us. Also, Metallica live in Guatemala!! that sounds AMAZING! :)
@RodrigoPolo8 жыл бұрын
I understand, Metallica was amazing, to give you an idea on how safe it was to be there, I walked right on the red dot in your map to the Cementos Progreso stadium with my 6 year old son having and iPhone 6+ and an Apple Watch on me to go watch Metallica, that place is as dangerous as any other place in zone 1, in a scale from 1 to 10 it was like 4 hahahaha not super safe, but not super dangerous. Maybe it is a map issue, another friend of mine told me it could be that you were in "El Gallito" where neither I dare to go by... you can get mugged there, that place is famous for being the HQ of some drug lords and only low life people go there to get all kinds of drugs, kind of going to East Harlem in NY, but again, you can go to Tikal without passing by that place, there are lots of cheap options to go to any tourist attractions, Atitlán and Tikal could be visited by public transport, even cheap public transport, the famous "canasteras" (which are pimped old US school buses that have a space in the roof for typical hand made baskets) you can go to all those places for less than Q100 (around $13.15 USD) in a quite comfy bus hahaha I understand that you rely solely on interactions with other people, but most of our own people don't travel a lot to this places, we are a 3rd world country where you have to work hard only to have food in your table, even I haven't go to Tikal haha I know, it is a shame, I'll do later this year before moving to the US. I hope you have a great experience in Guatemala and that you enjoyed my video on Atitlán.
@mathieutallard63287 жыл бұрын
I wanted to drive my scooter all around Venezuela. I landed in Cartagena and people from Cartagena and then, from Venezuela, all told me it was very dangerous. Took 3 weeks to find out they were right. I got attack along side a road at 4 in afternoon. I turn mistakes into lessons very fast now. I know shit can happen to me also, even if i am not looking for it. In some countries, shit is looking for you.
@RodrigoPolo7 жыл бұрын
I believe it is an error in the map, Zone 18 is dangerous, Zone 6 in an scale from 1 to 10 is 4 maybe, I also will follow any advice about danger so I'm not blaming their decision, just giving some extra info.

I just found this video and I really liked it! I'm from Guatemala City and currently live here, and I think there are some other cool places you need to visit if you're ever back here. For example, Lake Atitlán is a MUST! Its stunning blue water is like anything you'll ever see. Also, you should check out Puerto San José, the guatemalan pacific beach, which is known for its black sand and great ocean. You should also check out Retalhuleu, which is this cool town and there even are two amazing amusement parks there that are so much fun. I know there are some dangerous places here (just like any other country really), but if you take the main roads, you shouldn't have much trouble. It's the abandoned and hidden roads that you should stay away from. Anyway, loved the video! Great job :)

Loved this! Just found out about you guys. I'll start my travel from Mexico City to Ushuaia in the Patagonia next July, by hitch-hiking and this video helped me a lot to clear some doubts I had about Guatemala, I will keep watching your videos since they will be very helpful for my journey. Safe travel guys!

I was exactly there about 11 years ago. Watching this video made me realize how much I took it for granted. I gotta go back, I have family there after all!
@TheBudgeteers6 жыл бұрын
11years ago! Thats a long while, I bet if you go back some things would have changed a lot, but some places might have stayed just the same 😊 having family there is the perfect excuse to go back, good luck on your travels 👍

Paddy, Season 3 should be 50 European countries on $1,000. It might sounds boring to you, but not for us in Asia.

Loved this adventurous and entertaining episode.Sometimes it's important to listen to locals concerning safety. They know better! Knew this guy who ''didn't listen'' and ended up killed. Sad story..... You guys are just the best! Please go and explore Africa next time...... Happy 2017 to you three cool dudes.

Wow, another great episode! Really enjoying these! The border crossings make me a bit nervous though, especially if I imagine traveling them alone... Looking forward to the next episode!

Thank You Alexia :) the border crossings get worse and worse haha - maybe take a bus over borders its safer and less hassle :)

I am from Guatemala. I liked the video. But you guys are really enjoying traveling like that. I mean is just like you all are trying to avoid all the fun and beautiful places were you all can get really excited. Dumps up. 'Cause I liked the video, again just wondering if you are getting to know Guatemala like that, or just jumping over to get to the next country. And repeat it again and again...

yeah we were too focused on Panama for sure, but this was a show, not an example of the perfect travel style
