The Water To Go sports model water filter bottles are very good in the UK and cost about the same as a Sawyer. Diversifying with the cordage is no bad idea either. You don't need paracord every time and the equivalent thickness nylon cord is cheaper, sometimes quantity is it's own quality, I've used a lot of jute twine over the years and thicker ropes. All still pretty cheap.
@TheBugOutLocation4 ай бұрын
Agreed. Paracord is great at times, but I find myself using jute twine more often. It's easier to work with. Thanks!

Really liked your list. I’m pretty hard core, and just added the Zizzo folding bike to the trunk of her hatch back as the last part of my wife’s get home gear/plan, if there’s an EMP attack while she is at work, 45 miles away. It’s taken me about 4 months to put it all together. I look forward to seeing some future videos and ideas of yours.

Bakeries would have the food buckets and lids also. I used to get some of my buckets from the warehouse at the prison that I had worked in. I am so pleased to finally hear a prepping channel talking about thrift stores, but don't forget about estate sales [I know,somber subject] many times I have found an item that I have wanted for my own reparations and it's brand new and still in the box. Thrift stores have prices that usually are nonnegotiable, whereas garage and estate sales will bargain more easily with you to some extent.

Education! Don't ignore skills. Gardening. This afternoon I harvested 8 pounds of potatoes. There's another 50-60 pounds still in the garden. The beets, carrots, green beans, summer squash, radishes, rhubarb, onions and garlic are harvested. The medicinal, kitchen and household herbs are harvested, dehydrated and stored. The tomatoes, peppers, blackberries and winter squash is still producing. The apple and plum trees as well as the aronia and blue berry bushes are not old enough to produce yet, but had a healthy summer. I am learning to tend a grape vine. Year three, I have some grapes. The compost pile is decomposing. I obtained many of my trees and berry bushes as bare root saplings from the state department of natural resources nursery at very low cost, 25 each for $43 including tax and shipping. Then prep the soil, keep them watered for a couple years until they are healthy enough to get by without additional water. Decades of food for a little money and a little work. Another garden resource, wood chips from tree trimming companies. In many places this stuff is FREE. They give it away rather than pay to landfill it. I've used it in garden paths, my berry patch is entirely covered with two inches of wood chips and all my fruit trees are ringed with wood chips. Also, grass clippings get mixed with free horse manure from a friend, and also mixed with sawdust from a cabinet maker I know. This compost is gold for the garden. It also takes some work, turning it every couple days, occasional watering. . Gardening is a skill, it takes some education and a lot of practice. But, who isn't complaining about food prices these days? Bicycle repair, simple set of tools, some oil, some grease, some cleaner, a patch kit. At one point in my life I rode five thousand miles a year for most of five years just to get back and forth to work. I saved a lot of money and was very healthy. All that riding required routine maintenance that I did myself. Cooking, and baking, this can save so much money. The year is more than half over, my wife and I have eaten restaurant food or pizza only four times this year. We never buy cookies, cookie dough or cake mixes. Preserving food, canning, fermenting, freezing, cold storage, freeze drying and pickling, these take a bit of an investment, but the jars are reusable. A vacuum sealer and bags are better than zip lock for freezing food. A freeze dryer is state of the art, but expensive. Other skills, there's the list of last names, Archer, Arkwright , Baker, Barber, Bowman, Brewer, Bridger, Carpenter, Carter, Cartwright, Carver, Cooper, Cowherd or Coward, Cutler, Draper, Farmer, Fisher, Fletcher, Forester, Fowler, Gardener, Glover, Goddard, Hayward, Hunter, Kellogg, Mason, Miller, Piper, Potter, Sadler, Sheppard, Shipwright, Shoemaker, Skinner, Slater, Smith, Spicer, Spurrier, Stoddard, Swinnart, Tailor, Tanner, Tapper, Taylor, Thatcher, Turner, Wainwright, Weaver, Wheeler and Woodward. All these names have skills associated with them. Sure, some are expensive to learn, but many are not. Pick a skill and use it regularly. Use it to save money so you can invest in other things. Tell your non-prepper friends it is just a fun hobby that interestingly enough saves money so you can spend it on other necessities. Then get them involved.

Having a premium gas and fuel stabilizer helps keep gas good for a longer shelf life . Lemon extract can help kill the nerve to the nerve of a tooth . Temporary feelings kits are around $10 . And a great substitute for regulated painkillers is kratom . It has similar side effects as a opiate .

On Amazon today the Lifestraw is $17, whereas the Sawyer Mini is $22. There's not a huge price difference on the surface, but the difference becomes apparent when you divide the cost by the number of gallons. At 1000 gallons for $17, this comes out to 1.7 cents per gallon. The Sawyer Mini, however, at 100,000 gallons for $22 comes out to 0.022 cents per gallon!

If watching this video is overwhelming, prepping to stay alive is not a good idea, prep to be in a camp, or die, or opposite of what people watching this video are doing. I’m not being mean, if we are actually having to use all this stuff, those feelings will be a luxury you can’t afford to have.

Over-the-counter medicine is good for adults, but you also want to think for children that may be not very healthy seniors as they lose weight due to lack of food supply would also need a lower dose of medication over-the-counter including vitamins, having a whistle also learning how to do Morse code keeping a mirror in your pocketbook if you’re a woman and your glovebox if you’re a man a pair cord rope in the trunk of your car by a gallon of water make sure it’s never been opened in the floorboard of your car in your trunk. Keep an extra pair of shoes and warm jacket in your car trunk pack a small bug out bag in your trunk no more than 10 pounds. But make sure that you could walk a mile if you had to an emergency so keeping your health to spar is good for everyone go for a walk every day doing an emergency bug out with your family to see how long it would take someone to get there on foot by car or by bicycle, there’s no harm in trying your emergency bug out procedures in evacuation. Families never evacuation and the first few hours they are in panic mode.

I have several of the aqua containers, my question for you is where do you think people is going to store all this stuff?
@PiltdownSupermanАй бұрын
Especially people who live in apartment complexes, especially one bedroom units. People who have money to spare can use self-storage, but it costs more for temperature controlled units. Then you may have to find your way there in a crisis. I vote for moderation and consider essentials.
