Tsiska é unico, non so se esageri pensando sia stato il piú grande danseur noble di tutti i tempi sia per perfezione tecnica ed espressiva sia per bellezza fisica ed eleganza, il suo fisico ha la morfologia ideale per il balletto e i suoi piedi dovrebbero essere inclusi nei monumenti patrimonio mondiale dell' unesco !

Oh, thank you so much! It is always interesting to see what changes these ballets have undergone. And what a partnership! It is rare to see these days classical PDDs as wonderfully executed. I agree with other comments, Gracheva simply has it all: grace, personality, lines, amazing balance and control, lovely turnout. Can any of today's Aspicia compete with her? I doubt it

Zakarova is sublime in the part. In fact the role was created with her in mind, according to the choreographer in an interview which accompanies the DVD of the performance featuring Zakarova and Fellin, the great dancer who was later blinded by a Bolshoi dancer.

@@classicalaid1Yes, I have seen this performance and they were both really good and perfectly synchronised in the petite allegro parts. And Zakharova's petite allegro was surprisingly good especially considering her body type. Teachers and directors desperately trying to find the next Zakharova in dancers with long limps and high extensions will fail because that was not what defined Zakharova as a dancer

I echo your thanks for this compilation. Yes, the choreography is fiendishly difficult for both ballerina and danseur, and could so easily end up meaning nothing through a solely technical performance. But, Gracheva and Tsiskardze through their art make us truly believe in the story.

Очень красиво! Могу ошибаться, но вроде это не премьера от 7 мая, а генеральная репетиция от 30 апреля. В передаче "Недосказанное" Николай Цискаридзе показывал то же самое видео как пример из Генеральной репетиции, которую они с Надеждой Грачёвой всё-таки исполнили. А вот премьеру у них Пьер Лакотт и дирекция Большого театра отобрали. Грачёва и Цискаридзе танцевали только третью премьеру. @@An_Gold Нет, Цискаридзе с Грачёвой вышли на премьеру (третью). Николай Цискаридзе хорошо запомнил этот день, потому что это было 7 мая 2000 г. - день избрания Путина президентом. :) Первый спектакль "Дочери фараона" прошёл 5 мая 2000 г. Генеральную репетицию Цискаридзе и Грачёва станцевали 30 апреля. Их уговорили выйти на генеральную репетицию и на третью премьеру.

Some scenes here do look different than the one that we see in their production today. The second pdd in act one looks better today than in the early version. It’s simple and the music and choreography seems to be on one flow. On the other hand, I wish they could’ve kept the mime in the 3rd act. Also noticed that Aspicia’s variation in the 2nd act was danced in the 3rd act in the early version. Gracheva as always, is such a delight. Hope the Bolshoi had filmed more of her performances. I love her in Legend of Love, also with Tsiskaridze, which used to be uploaded here in yt but for some reason it’s taken down.

I take back everything I said about Tsiskaridze's feet being floppy in the other video I commented on today lols! His petit allegro here is stunning! Gracheva is lovely, sharp where she needs to be and beautifully fluid the rest of the time. They matched really well in that allegro, which not all couples do. Do you know who performs whichever river variation that was? It was lovely. (Sorry, I've only seen the whole thing once!). Thx for posting!

Thank you. It was Gracheva herself performing her river variation after she's "jumped in the water". As you probably know, there are 3 soloists who perform 3 river variations from various countries and then there's Aspicia's underwater variation. This is it.

Балет ставили на Цискаридзе и Грачеву, но премьеру танцевали Филин и Ананиашвили...С участием Николая и Надежды была записана полная версия хореографии Лакотта, исполненная ими на генеральной репетиции и в костюмах накануне премьеры.
