marvelous he was. Back in the heydays of ABT and Lucia Chase, he made me forget when Baryshnikov was not in the program. I always left feeling I had seen something special. He was a not only brilliant dancer but so charismatic. I saw him dance Les Patineurs, this most charming of the many delightful Ashton ballets for me, several times and he was riveting. But then he was always memorable - Don Q, Giselle, Bayadere, everything. Loved the times he danced with Gelsey and Natalia but he made everyone, Mariana, Cynthia, etc. look even better. Bundu, as the song goes, Thanks for the Memory.

A true star. Exceptional dancer and a wonderful man. So many dancers who get all the bells and whistles can't hold a candle to him. I admire and love him. Still very sad over his loss.

I am too ignorant of ballet to appreciate this man's ability. But I do gaze in awe at a male ballet dancer's musculature. I can think of no other athletics that can boast that degree of disciplined development for strength and agility.
