just a lil guy absolutely in awe of the scale of production given the humble origins of boxes of bees and mallets, amazing.

Almond trees in spring are like brides maids at a wedding, lovely. In Northern California, around Chico and Corning, we call them Amon trees cuz we, "Shake the L out of 'em" If you grow nuts or know nut growers you know what I mean. I guess not. We had a mechanism that reciprocated and literally shook the trees till the nuts fell off on the ground. After that they got scooped into wind rows and turned a few times. They used to raise geese under the trees to guard them but that got shut down in60s/70s for obvious reasons

Wonderful job on the videos again. It's bloody wonderful to see people outside in shirt sleeves. I'd freeze my butt off up here in the northern part of the states. Close to a meter of snow on the ground. And haven't seen a temp above 0 degrees C. In weeks. Thanks for warming this old Yanks heart. Keep up the great work.

That is so fascinating, i always wondered what they did with out the tractor attachment (or tractor built for it in your case) that shakes the shit out of the tree. Thanks for sharing that with us!! You are a really amazing person.

Imagine how much almond you would have lost had you bulldozed the old trees down. Another of repurposing the landscape. You are more clever than you let on.
