Gday BBM and john , i have become atune to hearing bees anyway i was on my steps here in the burbs and said i can hear bees looking around and then i spotted it a MASSIVE swarm flying past . Dont know where they went but it was huge i was about 30 feet away and this would have been abut 10 feet deep and about the same across i grabbed me brew and nicked off inside .

My first experience with a queen bee I put her in the box with the bees for 3 days then I open her cage up to let her go in The colony she flew straight up and stung me in the eyelid

I have started using the queen excluder that has the wood trim around the outside . They work great BUT the hive beetle hide around the inside edge . I going to put caulking around the inside to keep them out . Have you ever tried that style of excluder and if so what do you think about them . Thanks for your video’s

G'day Mark, your not joking about it being a weird summer so far with cold days and short nectar flows and lots of swarming happening. I started 2020 with one hive and finished with 8 and just picked up another 2 swarms in the new year. How has the Mallee performed for you this year? Much flower being produced or very patchy like the box and gum over here.

I'm watching you video with the bees in the top of the box before I watch it this is what I would do I would shake all the bees in the bottom box put the clean and scooter and put new frames in the top just in case old honeycomb haul it anyway

Hello weak colonies you can feed, they will grow strong very quickly Give sugar and water (1: 1) in small doses. In the evening, when it gets dark, they will bring you some honey :)and where you have an apiary for bees, you know clean water I can't see the food in the frame, read about Polish beekeeping and you will gain knowledge that other beekeepers will envy

I know swarms usually build out really fast. But the fastest one I ever seen one of my friends caught a swarm and it was a big one put in eight frame deep and they was about 3 in deep in the bottom not counting what was on the frames so I told him I'd put a box on top only two drought frames in less than 3 weeks they had all 16 frames drawn out with brood honey and pollen I thought that was amazing

I found with plastic queen excluders if you put them in your freezer for 2-3 days you can then tap or bang them on the floor and all the propolis breaks off like hard taffy.
