James these podcasts have improved so much. You are asking some great open questions and have a real knack for asking hard questions with respect and empathy. Keep kicking goals, would be great to see some more older players coming on. Especially from the 80s

Brilliant interview. Shane is an inspiration with his country boy approach to life. What a down to earth humble bloke.

That was one of my favourite interviews Jimmy , well done . Shane Webcke , is a Bronco , Qld & Australian ledge of Rugby league & just a great Bloke to boat .

Webby is underselling himself, saying he was a player who had no great talent. He was hugely talented. Yes, his work ethic was off the charts, but he was a brilliantly talented RL player. And I love his comments on what the Australian RL shirt meant to home, greater than Origin, he said. Many might not have expected a QL legend like him to say that, but it was a very important comment he made, and we want to see this back, the international sides being the pinnacle.

Thrilled to hear him speak so glowingly of Alf. SO aggressive, SO unorthodox, always putting the boot to the ball and making things awkward for people. What a BRILLIANT player he was. My all-time fave by a million miles. I've been saying for years that, until he becomes an immortal, then I don't know what the concept means. (And I say this a North Queensland tragic with no great love for the Broncos, to put it mildly!)

Wow, powerful stuff, always admired Shane Webcke as a player but to hear about his life story and how he became who he is today was so emotional but so inspiring, thanks James for having him on 👍🏼

Completely agree with Webby’s summation of this year’s GF. Broncs were crap first half, and paid for it late - can’t gas yourself out and expect to make it first to the finish line against a team like Penrith.
