It would be a cool project for someone to recreate that as their fireplace in their private home.

Glenn’s new crush! 😂😂 I got a kick out of that. That tower is incredible- I’ve never been to that entrance of the Grand Canyon! I need to get back out there!

They Glen... You mentioned that you enjoy history. Well, here is a tidbit you will enjoy. My husband's great grandfather was William Wallace Bass, one of the Grand Canyon's first pioneers. He established a camp on the very edge of the Great Abyss in 1883. Many famous people of the day visited his camps...Zane Grey, John Muir, Henry Ford...many more as well. My husband's grandfather, Bert Lauzon, made the history making trip down the Colorado River in 1911 with the Kolb brothers. I wrote a book, Stories the Canyon Keeps, which was awarded Best of the West 2019 by True West Magazine, telling our family's history at the Canyon. If you have any questions I would love to talk.

I will absolutely check your book out. How neat! Making a couple casual videos about some of the historic stuff was fun, but made me want to do more, and a more thorough job. So I am sure one day I will have questions. Many questions. Even digging a little into the Kolbs for example made me think of a couple questions nobody had answers to when I visited. We are going to be putting out a couple update videos next week about some health stuff I am going through and the future of our channel, so it may be a while before I am back in the saddle to speak, but your book looks fascinating and just my kind of thing! Will give me something to keep occupied. Thanks so much for your comment!

Glenn walked right past a Colter building that most people never notice. She designed the women's dormitory for El Tovar employees, though she the hotel itself was built before her time. It's still being used for that purpose. I've long wanted to see the fireplace in the common room there, and find out how much of the original interior remains.

Oh, a building I overlooked! I was wondering if I missed any. That fireplace was one of my favorite things to see that day. Would love to recreate that in my living room, or do a similar thing.

I’ve wanted to do Taliesen West on this channel, but I recall they had a no video policy a few years back when I went. Need to see if that is still the case, otherwise, I would love to cover that.
