Y'all have yo realise that this is that the best ongoing game award is given based on the games whole year, not just the past two months. And its also based on quality of content not the amount so while the past two months have been great, the lows that chapter 5 brought and the state of the game pretty much the whole chapter ruined fortnites chances at winning it, chapter 6 is imo one of the best chapter, right now is one of the best times to play it, but chapter 5 was one of the worst's and that is exactly what they were looking at even with remix factored in it wouldnt have been enough

Aftering reading others' thoughts and reasoning why HD2 beat FN. I agree. HD2 does deserve the award. I havent played it, so im not an expert on it but i do agree that Chapter 5 was awful. The devs never listened properly. I especially felt it with the hover jets in Ch5s4 and the greek mythics in the last month of Ch5s2.

Okay maybe an unpopular opinion, even myself as a fortnite player. But chapter 3 was one of the last good times in fortnite. Chapter 6 is going BANGARANG right now admtidly but we've got zero story lore or anything like the build up with the seven. We still had Jonesy last chapter but the story just isnt there. As someone who loves both games, there is no way on the planet that Fortnite beats Helldivers in this debate. Fortnite consistently has made bad decisions and ignored their community's wishes altogether, and its arguable this was their most controversial year yet. HD2 actively incorporates their community into the game's story and world, and if they mess something up, they immediately fix it rather than making every major player group angry like FN has been doing all year. Helldivers 100% deserves it over Fortnite, there's no actual argument to be made.

Helldivers literally had an update where over 180 countries couldn't play the game... Sure they eventually removed it, but the update was still there and that should immediately disqualify it from the award.

@@iko20101 I would argue that since it was Playstation's doing and not Helldiver's, the game itself shouldn't be held accountable. Keep in mind as well that a lot of HD2 Devs also fought Sony against pushing that update, some of which even being fired because they were actively encouraging players to boycott the game until the change was resolved. That said, that is a valid point, but you could also argue the same thing against Fortnite with their Apple/Google lawsuit blocking mobile players from being able to access the game and losing out on any money they had previously spent.

I’ll admit, I voted Helldivers 2 over Fortnite, it might have had some controversial changes, but the devs have been very fast to correct their mistakes, and the loyal player base it gathered in its first year alone deserves that win. I don’t even like Baldur’s Gate 3 either, but it absolutely deserves best Community Support, the devs have been fantastic with responding to the community.

Hi, in Brick Life, Lego Fortnite mode you can only place 150 items of Decor. I hope they are going to up the limit because surprisingly it’s not enough. I know it’s a small thing but it’s kinda needed. I have health conditions and registered disabled so I Love chill game modes so Lego Fortnite is truly a Godsend. Hope everyone is well and Awesome. @LukeFrancis-k8y Trippin. Fortnite has existed for years and constantly delivers new content, creates new names, and a wealth of content/ creators in multiple genres. They absolutely have stumbles and get rekt in critique for it. Helldivers has been out for about a year, has had a HUGE lack of content, nerfed the absolute shite out of their weapons, which made the game feel like dogshit, until they walked it back recently. They have also failed to release the steam review bomb cape for like 3/4 of a year now. They also took an entire YEAR to release one of the most anticipated races. The only definitive argument against fortnite is that the community isn't nearly as toxic. That's only because the game isn't competitive.

Not to mention, Fortnite is likely the ONLY game to have over thousands of custom character models, with many being created by fans, and had a bunch of the other games and companies mooching off their idea of bringing back “OG”. Roblox, Overwatch, Apex, and many more, including literal companies that have no gaming association, all went off of Fortnite’s Idea. Within its 7 years of Battle Royale, actual effort put into the game, and the fact that they aren’t greedy Krabs that simply want money, but rather listen to their community, connect with them, and give them special benefits you will never see other companies daring to do, should be more than enough proof that they are deserving of the top spot. Unfortunately, whiny little man-children and Twitter users only complain about the “controversy” and errors that Fortnite has made. They call Epic lazy, and yet they are providing us entirely new never before seen gamemodes, new BR maps every year, new skins, storyline, cosmetics, songs, and loads of other things that are being released and added to the game. Not to mention the fact that there are like, 17 different Gamemodes that are created and run full time by Epic, and that’s not even including the extra Ranked and Zero Build modes. People have their expectations and Egos too high, and their mentalities and intelligences too low. Ungrateful the Fortnite community has become. Other games have tried to take Fortnite down, and they have all failed. Of course there are games like Roblox and Minecraft, but they have their own perfections and errors. I honestly believe that Fortnite deserved the number one spot. Epic has been dealing with the bullshit of these ungrateful bastards for 7 years now, even after giving them more than enough..

I really haven’t enjoyed the Ballistic mode. It’s not the game mode though. It’s the players and how it is for me. I’ve played only 3 matches and only full played one. I’ve spawned in with no teammates the one time and the other bad game I got butt cheeks with half my team quitting. The first game was OK.

The reason fortnite didn't win is because for one Epic has messed up plenty of times and nobody is happy with a change or an update. Helldivers 2 didn't win because of the massive nerfs that they later on reverted. Baulders Gate 3 won because the devs haven't really had a bad update and it's gotten so many updates that people were happy to get especially offical mod support.

Ppl simply don't understand the lore of the game. Ch 5 is about Hope and her journey. Also it was about Doom and him furthering his goal of creating the perfect society. There needs to be an open world mode that focuses on the lore. Give players access to the world of Fortnite and not just the island the loopers are trapped on. Nerfing Marvel mythic weapons and equipment for Pro players and casuals was a L. The fact is there are too many Marvel haters. If you want this game to be just about running around shooting without reason, this game isn't for you. There will be changesade every season because there is a stroy being told like it or not.

I'm gonna keep it real w you dawg, as someone who actively plays both, Fortnite was arguably worse than HD2 in that argument, nearly every update of Chapter 5 they made the game worse, bullet drop was hated, every season there was a massive pro vs. casual debate because instead of just remove the weapons in comp they nerfed them all around, making casuals upset that the weapons were nerfed to the point of no use, and pros were still upset they were in comp. Both Season 4 events were nearly unanimously hated, the C5S4 Battle Pass was controversial to say the least, and they couldn't even leave Chapter 2 be, instead they had to overly monetize it with as many collabs as possible. Most of HD2's issues were either due to Sony, or fixed by the devs after hearing player complaints. On top of that HD2 actively interacts with their community, like incorporating the "Chaos Diver" group into the game's real lore. In terms of Community support, HD2 actually cares, while it seems like this year Fortnite has been actively ignoring their community altogether.

That’s how it used to be, the wall dynamo is for walls/fences the ceiling zapper for roofs and spikes for floors, the sound traps haven’t always been for all placement types

Astro Bot winning game of the year is ridiculous. It should not have been game of the year. 90% of people who watched literally didn't even know what the game was and had never heard of it. Yet EVERYONE has heard of Final Fantasy, Elden Ring and Black Myth: Wukong. How does a trash ahh game like Astro bot beat those masterpieces? (I'll admit, Elden Ring being there was stupid too bc it was a dlc not a game)

Helldivers 2 is better than modern fortnite. Helldivers is hilarious to play with friends while modern fortnite turn into a sweatfest with very little room for "fun" gameplay. Lego fortnite is goated though.

Personally Lego fortnite was mid until the new update, modem fortnite is hella sweaty tho that's never going to be a lie.

@Morozea000 to be fair yh early lego was pretty mid and the lost isles and odyssey did make it way better. I enjoy it more than battle royale by alot. I used to be good at br a while back but took about a year off of fort and when i came back it was a whole different game, everyone was sweaty-third party searching-build and edit fiends and i was just old lol. I still play but i dont remember the last time i felt excited about hopping on the battle bus. Its sad as hell man.
