We are so incredibly happy to have been able to attend JTC's Summer Session. As hearing parents to a child with hearing loss and cochlear implants, we have learned so much during Neo's hearing loss journey. We are still learning as much as we can about different ways to support Neo and we are happy that we were able to get a second opinion on Neo's current CI mapping. While we know that this is still the very beginning of Neo's journey with bilateral cochlear implants, we hope that Neo's story continues to inspire you all to learn more about the way to support children and families who experience hearing loss at some point in their life.

I have a son who is hard of hearing and he is 3 and a half years his hearing aids are not working and doctor suggested chochlear implant i am really afraid wish me all the best guys.

I’m 27 I’m hard of hearing and I can’t hear high frequency noises and I can’t tell the difference between certain letter sounds ! You guys are doing the best you can ! I’m in the process of getting a cochlear hopefully it help me!

I am nine years old and I have hearing loss. I will be going to the audiologist soon because he recently found out that I lost more hearing so we have to do the full hearing test. I’ll be going there in five weeks.

I think neo can't hear Dixon 2itch it's what I have and it's hard for me to hear sweeten words due to the damage that was done in my ear 1hen I was in my mom's belly ,she got a very dangerous called rubeola and she didn't know she was pregnant when she had me at 5 months , the doctors told her that I wasn't going to be able to move my body at all and she decided to have me even though the doctors told her to abort me, I wasn't even going to be able to walk or be completely blind now I'm 26 and live life to the fullest and didn't have all the doctor said I was going to have yes I struggled to hear and it's a little hard for me to see but God had good plans for my future and I feel very blessed and have a family of my own

I tell u that my parent want me go oral speech with deaf kids and I learned sign language when I was 9-10 between that I understand both oral and sign language a lot a lot that why. My parent asked me about wear hearing aids. .. I told my parent I really don’t want CSI. It not worth that waste big time .. sadly 🤟🏼 ❤

Are you still using sign language with Neo? Neo CAN thrive with sign language in addition to spoken language. He can have both! You don't have to wait for the MAPPing to re-introduce sign language, if you haven't already.
