The best fishing show ever takes you into Northern BC, for some massive winter run steelhead fishing with gear. Normally we don't fish roe but sometimes you just gotta do what you gotta do.
Steelhead are an anadromous rainbow trout and probably one of if not the most prized game fish in Canada and the USA. The come in all shapes and sizes of awesome. The world record for steelhead weighed in at over 40 lbs caught in Washington, USA. The previous world record was taken from Northern British Columbia which is exactly where we are fishing on this adventure.
Tangled with Captain Quinn, Season 1, Episode 1-This Roe Stinks and So do I

I’m new to float fishing and watching this video has me excited. I live in Central NY just miles from the Salmon River in Pulaski, NY. The Salmon run is pretty much over for this fall and now the Steelies and Browns are moving in. Hopefully I can hook my first Steelie this fall/winter. I’m used to swinging streamers on my 4wt on the small local streams for Browns and Brookies. I can’t wait to get after them. Thanks for the awesome video.

Awesome water, nice fish, great humour....great vid....really like your net! I use a palomar knot on all my terminal tackle(swivels)...have for 45 years....never found a better terminal knot for light mono or braids...would never fish with a double clinch...that would be a source of constant worry for me. Big water and big steelhead push your gear to the threshold.... not much separating you from success or failure. Really cool stuff... loved it! Cheers from Sooke BC.

lol claiming that fish haha Quinn you weasel . I love your videos jokes aside. I've been doing better in the tributaries here in southern Ontario. I remember asking you for advice. I got my timing improved. you were right it's all about timing when you don't have such beautiful rich watersheds. here I fish small tribs that dump into lake Ontario on the North side. so our runs are dwarfed by yours. but going after lots of rain proves successful. I would go a couple days after lots of rain, when it's safer and the water isn't all chocolate milk like, but still high. I was amazed how previous pieces of water turned into large runs that held lots of fish. the river totally transforms after heavy extensive rains. thanks for the those many moons ago. my most successful presentation under the float is a bead in the shades of red pink or orange, and a pink worm. this fall I want to try flies but I'm not sure what a sure shot is. what's a good fly pattern under a float that has true tested precedence? I like the way egg sucking leeches look. it would be nice hooking up with one. what are you favorite Autumn run flies to use? also what's your favorite presentations for brown trout?

Hey dude, love the show! You are a lucky man!People have no idea wtf you are doing.I know guys that nymph the and are stoked to land 1 steelie a day.I ran a black and grey bugger once and nailed 6 in an afternoon,Thought I had it all figured out.Nope!I've ran grey and olive leaches steelhead fishing in the spring and hooked 20-30 lb springers on 6lb tippet...those break off.Still don't have it all figured out!Roe? fished the little niagra and was happy to get a bite.Nightcrawlers and corkies?Yep.Beads?Hell yes< peach pearl 8mm works good. For both steelhead and salmon! But personally there is nothing like a swung fly!Skaters, yep.Thought those were people who rode skateboards!Little did I know............And never mind those that badmouth you! Those dudes probably jelous.I've went days and days of drift boat rides without a steelie. Then when you least expect it, at the end of a swing....holy crap, theres a nice fish on.Once again you are the luckiest man alive in my opinion to be able to live, work, and fish on the Skeena. And to hell with the people who make fun!The funniest ever was I has some left over stuff and tied up an orange and red comet.I thought no way in hell is anything going to eat that.Well, My rod got slapped hard, I set the hook and a 5 inch long smolt came flying out of the water and damn near smaked me in the face. The comet was a size 4.How the hell did that little sob get that in his mouth?Half the fishing is just getting out of the house. My hat is off to you!Take care dude!Im going to try your pink flamingo down here.
