I own a 2005 LS430. I bought it used in 2010 and found that the owner had let the dealership maintain it. So, I have let that same dealership maintain it. Everything is on the dealership's maintenance list. It has over 230,000 miles on it. Best car I have ever owned. If anything on one side goes out, I buy the dealers replacement parts for both sides, no matter the cost. I replace the battery every two years regardless. The Air Force taught me, if you take care of something, it will take care of you. They have B52's still flying from the Vietnam era because they take care of them. I intend to keep taking care of this car, because I cannot find a replacement for it that has as much headroom, rides as quietly or feels as comfortable to ride in. One thing I love is when I pop the transmission from 6th to 4th gear and press the accelerator, this car will leave any situation in your rear view mirror. BTW the rear view mirror, does not work and was way too expensive, that is the only item I refused to change out. I can live without its night feature. I hear people say they love a car, but I always tell people this car loves me! It treats me so well. I will always let the dealerships take care of it.

After finding this channel I abandoned the search for a nice RX350 when I was completely distracted by a pristine 2003 LS430. 91K miles, not a UL, non-NAV, Black over Tan completely stock. Complete maintenance records from day one, dealer serviced for the first 5 years then DIY after that by a guy who is even more particular than I am. New timing belt, pulley, idler, water pump, rotors and pads times 4 and door locks times 4. I will continue to DIY as long as I am physically able. I am licensed to maintain my own airplane and it gets serviced by the book, this will be no different. I am really looking forward to working on and driving this fine machine.

My Cadillac XT5 has a new car smell in it but my 2016 Rav4 never did. Granted this is probably Toyota trying to use low VOC materials but come on. Not even a new car smell? Literally all of the appeal has been engineered out and in its place ideal items for a buyer base of Uber drivers and Taxi and Limousine businesses. They can’t even make their own sports cars anymore and have to turn to BMW or Subaru to make one. Its too bad. Like Regular Car Reviews said. The Japanese brands have gone from cars you desire getting to appliances that serve no other purpose. The only exception is Mazda and maybe Subaru if they ditch their stupid CVTs. The only thing I didn’t agree with regarding a reason to avoid the ultra luxury being the air suspension. There is no conversion kit needed to swap to the conventional shocks and springs. I’ve had a pre-facelift and a facelift where the air suspension started to go and the normal suspension bolts up without any modifications. So don’t let that part deter you.

I was a proud owner of the 2005 LS430 (my wife drove it mostly). It was a beautiful car and we had it for 3+ years before disaster struck. It's exactly the same issue with all the electronic in the rear trunk area that you mentioned around 15:30 in the video. My wife was stopped at the left turn light when a high schooler drove too fast and change lane but hit the car right side bumper. I thought it will be an easy bumper change. Unfortunately that hit all the computers and electronics on the lower right portion of the car. The repair was $18-22K (quoted from 3 different repair shops) and the insurance decided to total the car. It was very sad for us to part with that Lexus just from a bumper accident. It is, like you said, one of the most beautiful and reliable Lexus we ever owned.

Mother has a white 2009 corolla s which I just put in NGK iridium X plugs and running super smooth because the engine was missing. And I have the Maroon 1998 Tacoma 2wd with the 2rzfe which I changed the motor oil also today with Pennzoil ultra platinum which is my favorite oil. All vehicles running like day one even though they are old.. The best car is the ones that's payed off and you maintain and they are Toyota#1 😮👍

She HATES screens and modern dash. She loves the cassette player and cd changer and other than quiet and smooth ride the best feature is super tight turning circle. Remember this was designed for Japanese use with small streets.

You really put a whole lot into perspective there Mr. Car Care, I do like those LS sedans though. However maintaining a Toyota properly these days is not cheap either. I'll take an easy pass on that LS premium hike. Plus the premium fuel cost and mileage is more than plenty. The Toyota is perfectly fine for daily use in my book. The Black Cherry LS there could be a very nice weekend car to keep around in better times as I would have to keep it immaculate because that car deserves it.

My 2004 ultra has 333000 miles on it. Only have a couple of issues. Sat navigation doesn't work so need to look at fuse box. A previous owner sorted the rear silencer issue not by lexus standards. Got a 3" straight pipe from Y pipe at front of car to a big bore silencer at the back. Start up cold rattles windows. Once started is actually quite quiet. Interior has stood the test of time very well apart from wear to drivers and front passenger seat. Have air suspension with height adjustment and a sport mode. You can feel the difference when driving. This was the first lexus that I have ever driven or owned. Did the boot check as recommended by car care nut. Mine are dusty so need a hoover out. Bought it for ridiculously cheap price with the knowledge I would have to spend a bit on it. Came with all new brakes and tyres around. Suspect brakes are not OEM but work well. Recent maintenance carried out by a lexus dealer only highlighted 3 issues. Leaking core plug, torn steering rack boot and loss of fins on air con condenser. Maintenance was a 10 year service new cambelt, pulleys, tensioner and radiator (no issues showing). Lexus techs had never seen a lexus with over 300,000 miles on one. It was certainly a positive conversation with them and they are keen to see it back when I need more maintenance done. Valet by dealer brought up the paint work to an amazing standard looked like new. All this shows how much time Toyota/Lexus designers etc put in to building what at the time was the perfect saloon and has stood the test of time extremely well.

I own a 2004 "SC 430" with 57K on the clock. ALL service work has been done with my car. LIke anything else, preventive maintenance and staying with the recommended service schedule will keep you and your Lexus happy for many miles down the road. Probably the highest expensive I've had has been the Timing Belt , Water Pump, and the pulleys. Although I also had a Oxygen Sensor that melded to my Manifold that had to be drilled off, which was horribly expensive. Both of these separate costs at my Lexus dealership was about $3000.00 a piece. Yes, I could have saved money by using an independent mechanic or using non-factory parts. But, I didn't want problems with aftermarket parts. Plus, going through a Lexus dealer gave me a little more piece of mind. I LOVE my Lexus! It makes for a GREAT Palm Springs California car! Additionally, I've been thinking about adding another Lexus to my garage - an RX 350. I might be biased, but I believe there is a great value with the Lexus brand and product. Great review!
