what if the bed is at a fixed height? i. e. low. Do the same thing or is there another way?

If you can't change the bed height you do the best you can - and if you can't transfer safely - the patient stays in bed....Thanks for watching. This is sitting to lying. What is the opposite procedure- lying flat to sitting please

Well isn't that a good question and why didn't we do one about that - guess we will have to. So in the short run... here you go. Put the bed in a low position, turn the patient onto their side - facing you - with there knees bent. If you are by yourself - slide your arm through their neck so you are hugging their back and use the other arm to hook around their bent knees. On the count of 3 lift the patient to the sitting position and place their feet on the ground. With two people one handles the legs and other other the torso. Well, you may have your own way and that's fine - there are many ways to skin a cat but we reviewed this with physical therapy. If you have 2 people , of course one would take legs and one t he torso.
