I've got a TTS (Mk 3) and to be honest that is more than quick enough. Sound of the RS is so much better though.

I agree. I only have the 230bhp version but still rapid on public roads in all weathers and exhaust note is cool with pops on the up shifts.

Thank for bringing this lovely review. As an TTRS 8J driver I like it because of alle the things you mentioned. With an exhaust its even better sounding so sporty.

I agree with the little rear discs. Could they fit nice big disc,but soften up the rear caliper piston bite to still keep the correct front to rear brake force distribution.

I always like the look of the TT, but I had no idea the Quattro RS was such a monster. Great snarl from the exhaust. Fantastic! Great interior.

Great video Jason. Looking forward to seeing more reviews by you too! I wish Audi would put their staple 5 cylinder engines in their RS4 and RS5 rather than the somewhat mundane V6s, as a nod to their legendary RS2. I agree with calling the TT a coupe-type hatchback. I'd call a 2002 Mazda RX-7 a hatchback too
@TheCarGuysTV6 жыл бұрын
smilepermile thanks! I’m glad someone agrees with my hatchback thoughts😂
The car guys have never reviewed an Audi r8. This would be welcome to complete your range of knowledge on the Audi sport brand. You are making reference to this car against an rs6. The true reference for such a sports car is to compare it with an Audi r8. Just a thought. Super reviews as always. 😊

Greetings from across the pond, I’m a big fan of your videos. I’m looking to get into my first sports car, was wondering what you might recommend for a novice? I’ve got it narrowed down to this TTRS, the 718, and the FType (V6). I’m leaning towards the Jag. I currently drive a GTI to give you some perspective. Thanks for any advice and keep up the great work!

I've had an adult 5"2" fit in the back. Also you'll only notice a difference in ride between comfort and dynamic if you have the magnetic ride option.
@adrianlivesey43756 жыл бұрын
This car does have the mag ride option, the roads Jason used would not have shown a noticeable difference.

How is the turbolag if any? In all 911 video's I hear people talk about the (slight) turbolag, but never with any other brand, so it's hard to compare.

Audi set up their cars for understeer? No I believe it’s to do with the position of the engine over and in front of the front axle which affects the weight distribution especially in cornering and then couple that with what’s a predominantly front wheel driven a lot of the time range of vehicles until drive is transferred to the rear. I don’t think they are aiming for bags of understeer mate ,it’s more of a consequence of the engineering. Good video though thumbs up 👍🏾
@RobinH88696 жыл бұрын
If the car has not got the Magnetic Ride option then you don't have adaptive dampers - so you wont feel any difference in the ride between modes. Note you can have the sports exhaust without the Magnetic ride - lots of people assume if you've got the exhaust you've got the sports pack - not true - the dealers spec just the exhaust.... You should really try the RS3 - same performance, more practicality - still pricey but amazing
@TheCarGuysTV6 жыл бұрын
Robin H this has the Magnetic ride but I’m clearly not sensitive enough to tell the difference. 😂 RS3 is certainly more practical.
@TheEryk036 жыл бұрын
TT RS is much faster on track.
@adrianlivesey43756 жыл бұрын
Robin, I think when Jason drove this, the roads he chose meant he would not notice the difference so much, the mag ride on soft is much more compliant, I have found the auto setting on the car a really good setting, it just seems to deal with it all.

Enjoyed that video I’m a huge fan of a 5 cylinder 2.5 turbo engines you must try a mk2 focus RS500 or feel free to try my mountune mk3 RS before I replace it with something else which is why I’m very interested in this series of videos

Chris, this is my car, I have owned both a /MK1 RS3 and a MK2 RS3, realised I didn't need the practicality of the RS3 hence my move to the TT RS, feels such as different car, not really faster, just different somehow.
@chrissharman91696 жыл бұрын
Adrian Livesey .Lovely car Adrian. Don’t think you can go wrong with that 5 Cylinder TFSI engine. My RS3 is the PFL so your car and the facelift RS3 has the lighter more powerful engine. Would imagine the TT Coupe is a bit lighter than the RS3 also👍👍👍
@adrianlivesey43756 жыл бұрын
First RS3 was fast, but not much in it again my mates 2015 300hp 2015 S3, it just sounded better, the second RS3 was a different animal, much better all round, but really I came to realise I bought the wrong car as I didn't need a practical car anymore (wife has a Q3). I got lucky and managed to buy one of the last 2018 TT RS as there was only about 20 left for sale in the country. Got all the spec I wanted and some stuff I didn't want, but the deal was really good, so it was mine. It is a rocket ship against the old 365hp RS3 lighter and more HP!

Nice review... its an incredible machine and as a owner now for a year I have to say its just perfect. You should have tried launch control... its epic and when putting the electronic stabilization into sport+ you can actually get 100% of the power to the rear wheels. I can take off and make the car go sideways especially in a corner. Making it feel like a rear wheel drive. Here is a short drone video of my ride: kzbin.info/www/bejne/jZXQYXt7irCnfNk More vids on my channel... (including driving through tunnels etc)

Never been a fan of the TT personally, still has " that " image even though this is the rocketship version , that said the interior is superb , nobody beats an Audi interior for fit , finish and general styling , ( remember those ghastly baseball stitched seats on the old version Jason ? ) I also like the onboard tech , not that I would ever use any of it being of a certain age . The best thing about the car for me would be the engine sound, it's so reminiscent of the old 5 pot Quattro UR , just needs to spit some flames out of the back , like the old group B days . !!!
