I love about twenty minutes from the North Pole, N.Y., I worked there in my teens, and it's a very cute theme park for small children. The kids were always so excited when they met Santa and saw the reindeer. It's a lot of fun for the kids and I'd recommend that everyone goes there at least once to meet Santa.

Donner is German for Thunder, Donner und Blitz. Donder is Dutch for Thunder, Donder en Bliksem. Regardless which is chosen, it translates as Thunder. And the sound that made by this specific reindeer with its hoofs while running before the sled is like Thunder. What a beautiful Christmas themed park this is. Should be lovely to go there with the little and somewhat bigger kids.

Charles Wood was a business man from this area. He went to Knotts berry farm and was inspired in 1954 to build story town and the gas light village in lake George. Gas light village was closed down but story town was renamed to the great escape and is now a six flags theme park. He also started the double H ranch with Paul Newman. Seeing this brang back some memories, I'm a Brit but back in '94 my Grandad wanted to visit his Sister in Canada (during the 60's there was a big push for Brits to emmigrate to the colonies, so Canada, Australia, New Zealand etc) and my Great Uncle decided to drive us down across the Border to visit this place, I can't remember tons as I'd have only been around 3 or 4 but I do remember touching the Pole (didn't lick it), visiting Santa and Mrs Claus (could be Mandela effect but I swear it was more furnished in the grotto like a home back then to explore), fed the Reindeer and got this Handmade wooden wand that I think I still have somewhere (Has my name and oddly a Love heart end despite me being a Boy). Glad it's survived though and maybe one day if I ever get Stateside again I can take my own Kid there to see Santa.

Hi Jacob, the Santa theme park in Ca is called "Sky Park" it has some of the original pieces of the former Santa's village but now with the added twist of also being a place where you can also go on bike trails or even camp. They recently opened a part where you can stay in an air stream for the night. I recommend coming to town for s visit if you ever get the chance. In December they have a lot of Christmas fun. Bring a heavy Jacket, and gloves, it gets frosty.
