I've been doing the St. Gertrude prayer for the last six years and I set a goal for every 10 days to help 1 million souls to be released from Purgatory. Did you know that the first 7 days of November carry a plenary indulgence to release souls from purgatory? You must go to confession, attend Mass and receive communion. Then go to a consecrated cemetery, my old church has priests buried on the grounds so that qualifies, and pray for the holy souls. Just a short prayer for them. You can pray for a particular person, or if they're out of purgatory already, the prayer releases another soul. We also have a basket with the names of people we wish for the congregation to pray for and to be included in the Masses. It is a beautiful thing and such a blessing.
