Needed to hear this today. I fall into the trap of treating my relationship with God like a legal document, battling scruples and a wrongful fear of God. Have to remember that we are His children, not slaves. God Bless!

Another powerful video brothers! I go to confession almost weekly but I definitely believe we still have to work on our sins. We can't just keep doing them over and over again because we know we can confess and start over. Thank you for being so honest and so raw about this topic. 🙏✝️

You can sort of call what Adam did a mild form of cowardice a serious look at what the virtue of fortitude and use as a confession manual is a great help. Last one that is so important have masses said in reparation for sins is such a powerful help in staying out of habitual sin.

Our Catholic priest, Fr Joseph Wilson, always talk about reparations and atonement for our sins, not only confession

@@kevinkane9446 No, I won’t ,read the scripture, not by faith alone. Maybe Protestants should steer far from the pastors that cannot even agree with each other, hence the 50k denomination s and still counting

Some believe that it is ok to have habitual sins (even mortal) because God forgives always and that confession is readily available. I believe that we ought to make amends after confession, renew our hearts and minds and strive not to have habitual sins. We are called to be holy each moment and renewal of our lives. Do everything for God’s greater glory while practicing humility and obedience. Jesus, we trust in you🙏

In your Act of Contrition: Give some thoughts and meaning to the words involved with absolution - "I firmly resolve to sin no more and to avoid (the things/situation that caused this sin) the NEAR occasion of sin. Amen"

Exactly... confession is not enough. I noticed many protestantized Catholics in Novus Ordos mass hurried to get communion without confession first. Traditional Catholics in TLM go to confession first before they receive communion in Jesus on their tongues.

Confession to a priest followed by repeating a bunch of prayers and doing acts of penance is absolutely unbiblical.
