Did love the aunties, but it’s the grannie I can relate to. The whole family was separate, in their own parts of the house; however, it was when the music loving granny grabbed Marvin’s hand and danced, the whole family fell together-even the Mama who didn’t want to feel old. Many of us survive our ever-so-odd families, and those of us who do, are better for it. Can’t wait to meet Marvin’s family.

The god father is bald unlike the one where he was introduced because he had side hairs. And then the grandmother who had this big smile, a disturbing dace shape, and tiny size but in the photo, she looks taller along with a normal looking face and a normal looking smile.

One thing I really like is how every character is a “representation” of how the daughter sees them: *The aunts are the most normal-looking of them all because she sees them as just some charismatic gossipers *The cousins are just like chickens becuase she seems them as dumb as a bird *The god-father is a tiny man who makes himself look very grand because he thinks he’s actually very important when in reality he’s but a tiny parasite *The mother is a self-centered snake who looks old but isn’t willing to admit it *The grandma is a very nice and tiny person, she has a very big heart but is also a shadow because she is the one that runs the family from the inside

I love how at the end of the video there's little Easter eggs about what the family dynamic is like in the photographs (5:50). For example: - the two aunties who fell in love with two guys who were in love with each other (they're holding hands) - the grandmother and her pirate love (presumably Grandpa) - the grandma riding what looks to be a dinosaur - the godfather as a baby (so he's probably the mom and aunties' brother) - a drawing of the grandmother and Sarah from when she was a child - one of the aunties on a swing (based on a famous painting) - some people standing around a campfire - the mom in her younger days - Sarah standing next to somebody with really thick eyebrows in a photograph (not sure who that is) - part of a black and white photo that we can't see - and then a LOT of pictures of Piggy (including how he was presumably formed by a cat and a bird) Then another couple of Easter eggs is when we meet the mother towards the end of the video. We can also see in the pictures surrounding her that she is very comfortable in her own skin. There's even a nude portrait of her in her studio.

When watching this short I like to think that we are seeing people not only as they are, but as the girl's perspective feels about them. The aunts have a round build, (According to the character design and a couple of other things, this is done to perceive the person as more friendly) They are very similar to her, the cousins ​​are all the same and as if they were birds that do not think or have their own criteria. While the godfather and his mother are rather extremely thin, one being taller and the other being small in comparison, and with other features totally contrary to her. When you get to the grandmother, she is technically a version of the girl who is a few years older, they have almost the same physiognomy and when the grandmother arrives on the scene, she fills the atmosphere with joy, which (at least for me) gives me the view of that the girl is in a warm and comfortable environment with her. In short, a true work of art, (Three years old and I always see it when I have the opportunity!)

I like the symbolism. Each family member is associated with an animal or their characteristics are exaggerated. The aunts are normal, but everyone else is drawn and animated to match their personalities. The cousins are as dumb as birds, the dad is shown to exaggerate his stature or his importance, the mom is a snake, and the sweet grandma runs the show from the shadow and keeps the peace. It's beautiful and very impressive to be able to show this much character in 6 minutes.
