Major, next Steel Fist on 129 AD (Artillery Regiment). My father raised it, and though initially it was not a permanent regiment, he fought and persuaded the authorities, it was such a well trained regiment, it deserved to be regularised. He was its first Commanding Officer, and I went with my father for its 60th anniversary in Jodhpur in January 2002. My father passed away on 14th August 2002, but it was a happy last meeting for his regiment and their first Commanding Officer. I remember how the entire regiment was hanging on to his every word, as he gave his speech and recounted all the hard work that had gone into forming the regiment, along with the good times. 🪯🕉️🚩♥️🇮🇳

More than 50% soldiers in Mysore Lancers were Marathas from in and around Mysore, Bangalore and other regions. My grandfather Chander Rao Sindhe, his younger brothers Govind Rao Sindhe, Krishna Rao Sindhe and his Son In Law Mahadev Rao Bhonsle were part of WWI and took part in Battle of Haifa.

Riding a horse at a high speed and picking a target up is a sport which was practiced in the Central Asian Steppes. I believe they still practice it in Mongolia during their Naadam Festival.

And Regiment soldier's have been taking a participate in Ceremonial parade like as 15 Jan. Army Day and 26 Jan. Republic day parade .
