Melissa, make sure you look through everything, even the clothes. When I did storage units I found bills in with clothes and paperwork. The change can be taken to the bank and traded in for better looking change. I bought a $10 unit and found a jar full of dimes, then in the pocket of a suit jacket was a $100 bill so I got a good deal on that unit. I donated all the clothes and etc. Glad to see Rob out helping you.

It's unbelievable the amount of "junk" people will pay to store away for years and years then just stop paying on it! My father has a storage rental business and some people have had bays for 25+ years, never go get anything from it, just pay every month. He's definitely had some that just pay for a few months then just stop never to be heard from again! I do enjoy watching these videos, kinda fun to see what they've left behind

One piece of advice Melissa, from past experiences with storage units...wear a mask! As soon as you start coughing, mask up. I know it's hot where you are and it's not ideal, but as soon as you start going through filthy units like this, Beware. You're stirring up God knows what kind of microscopic whatever and you're breathing it in. When units are packed neater, the risk is lower. I got sick from a unit like this, so please take care.

I’ve been buying abandoned properties for over 20 years. - Public storage will usually have that unit on a $1 special for the month otherwise that cost eats into your profits. Also look through the bags that even look like trash you’d be surprised where you’d find jewelry or money. It’s definitely addictive…

@@rosefiacco3372 I’ve been buying lockers and other abandoned properties for many moon - a lot of times people Ned to get out of where they are living in a very short time and just toss their things in a unit. Other times you will notice ‘pride of ownership’ that their intention was to move and store. In Florida once you’re 41 days past the payment due date your things can be auctioned off. That public storage and their lock cut and late fees can be astronomical so people just let it go.

First girl you're insane to work on this during the summer heat. Second you're really smart to just temporarily rent the unit so you can take your time. I sure wish you were close enough to help go through my 2 storage units. I'd give you all kinds of stuff in exchange. But oh well I'll get to it eventually. I only got the second to shove things in temporarily. But it's been a couple of years. Soo I really need to go through both & get rid of things. But I have to wait until it cools off again. I may just pay someone to help me & haul the rejects to a donation place.

Be sure to look for concert and vintage t-shirt and clothing. Some seems to be really popular and therefore may have value. Even some old collector electronics are worth checking out even for parts.

Where I live I have a huge unit from that same company PS. I had very expensive items Ive collected through the years and family heirlooms. I had no need to go there on any regular basis and paid on autopay. I recently went there and the locks were cut and changed! When I finally entered with public storage staff who had the keys, it was practically empty. I couldn’t breathe. At least over $9000 worth of my belongings were stolen! And it was an inside job. I’m still trying to work with the insurance company. It’s a nightmare.

Just an odd comment. You can sharpen scissors with aluminum foil. Just tear off a foot or two, fold it in half and start cutting. It will amaze you how fast the sharpening works! Also old eye glasses can be donated to your local Commission for the Blind. I live in Idaho, and ours is in Boise, Idaho. If you have a donation, they'll probably send someone to come pick up your items if they're a ways away from you.

the colored cups and the tablets are used to color easter eggs. The wax thing is to write on the eggs when they are warm and then drop them into the cups. I don't remember the ratio of liquid and vinegar you put in the cups with the dye before you put the egg in

Walmart has these little metal fans with quite the strong breeze. They're only about $6 & have a usb cord so it can be run on a power bank. They last for years too. You should get yourself a couple of them & a power bank. I have a Iniu that has 2 ports but its runs $30 or so when on sale. Its the 20,000mh You could get a smaller one too. But Iniu has been the best brand for me. But I run my tablet on them so I'm not tethered to a plug. The fan probably takes less juice.
