Fun fact I just learned from my vet this year- chinchillas have a “toe comb”. If you look at their back feet, they have one toe that has ‘weird’ fur on it- the fur is stiffer and sticks out over the nail more. They use this toe comb to clean their face and ears, and to groom themselves.

zoo holic I give my chinchillas cardboard and have never had any problems with it. I only ever give cardboard I think is 100% safe for my pets. I do however only give cardboard once a week or so and I use lots of fun wooden toys!

I love DIYs and hauls. Maybe another toy DIY or cage accessory. You could make one of those tunnels made out of PVC or something like that or you could challenge another chinchilla channel to do a DIY. Another playtime video! I also liked the idea of things only chinchilla owners will understand.

Ever since I new what a chinchilla was I wanted one. I begged my mum for ssssssoooooooooooo long [3 years to be exact] . But one day she was feeling nice and finaly caved ,but she said that I had to pay for the chinchilla and every thing it needed [ apart from the vet stuff] . I am 8 and am hoping to get it before my tenth birthday . I don’t know if it will help you, but it will certainly help me and quite possibly other people. I watched a video of yours where you were explaining what is healthy and what is not for chinchilla’s. Where I live it’s not big on chinchilla’s. Matter of fact I’m going to have to go out of town to get my own chinchilla. I would like to know about websites to visit to order toys, treats, cage ledges, and everything that will help me take care of my chinchilla’s. If you have already done a video about it please forgive me, but what to get is troubling me. I don’t want to get anything toxic. I wanna get toys that are healthy, necessary, creative, and fun. I think it’s masterful that use stones and marble to keep Merlin cool if he gets too hot. You made a video about the right wheel to get, the fact of how and why they chew so much, and the wooden huts you’ve purchased for Merlin. I have my heart set on getting two chinchilla’s, and sugar gliders. So, I’m trying to gather as much information as possible before I go get them.

Brianna Loaiza I love both but I don’t recommend tile in the whole cage because they need an absorbent place to pee and it either has to be bedding or fleece. I personally like having both as in a half and hald😊

Here’s a fun fact about one of my chinchillas the lady I got him from had his foot amputated cause when he was a small baby she had the wrong wire steps and he was stuck in the steps and broke his foot so I have a three legged chinchilla A video idea not sure if you did already since I’m new is maybe health issues that people don’t know about them or more dangers.

You are never going to stop them pooping everywhere- they just don’t have the ability. Most chins will hold their pee when you take them out. If you notice that your chin is NOT pooping every few seconds while they are out playing, the odds are they have to pee. Many can learn to pee before you take them out. I have 14 chins, and have only been peed on by an adult chin once in the last 25yrs (I don’t count babies, since they are still learning, but I have only had a baby pee on me a couple times), and had my carpet peed on maybe 3 times. Litter training in the cage is more about putting the litter box in the area that they pee- I use toilet paper to teach mine to use a specific area- they LOVE to pee on toilet paper. I put a few sheets in the litter box, and they usually run over and pee on it right away.

lexi smith Treats aren’t very good for chinchillas and should be given only a few times a week. I’d say one or two every other day. Merlin’s favorite are goji berries and rosehips, and barely grouts. Those are all very good, but watch the goji berries, because they’ve got sugar in the, while the rosehips and barely grouts are completely sugar free. You can get them at most health or grocery stores and if not, you can always order online😊💕

Anne-Sophie Termansen Most chins need a partner to live with because they are very social rodents. But some chins prefer to live alone or have to for special reasons so if you can find one that is happier alone, then you’ll be great😊
