Okay.... You said you're okay with headcanons... so I... *Ahem* Besides the fact that I have a WILD CRUSH on the girl bartender, I (as well as a couple other people in the comments) headcanon her as a transgender bisexual girl named Miranda (I have no explanation for this, I just really like the name Miranda for some reason and I think it suits her). I think she is quite tall, 187cm, Also, since the cover art doesn't show her hands, I allowed myself to assume that she might have those same sapphic nails (long nails on the thumb, little finger, and index finger, and short ones on the middle and ring fingers). I think Miranda works part-time as a bartender at an LGBT establishment while getting a higher education in management. Perhaps she is very goal-oriented and strong, and wants to open her own establishment in the future. Well... The lady in the strawberry dress is Emily, Miranda's former classmate. Emily was homophobic and transphobic in school, which was due to her not being able to accept her own sexuality (Emily also bi too). So in high school, Miranda and Emily didn't get along (to put it mildly). I headcanon that Emily is studying to be a doctor. The situation depicted in the art and to which the cover refers is a chance meeting between Miranda and Emily a few years after graduating from high school. I think Miranda was a bit snide towards Emily at first due to her being homophobic in the past and now meeting at an LGBT establishment, but eventually they were able to talk and discuss everything related to the topic, and they also told each other about how their lives had changed since graduating. Well, and then they developed... mutual interest. Well... that's all I have for now. Your wonderful vocals help imagination work)

This...this works pretty well for one of my stories. In it, two of the side characters sometimes talk about "what happened in Egypt" and though the audience never finds out, it's implied that what happened was...along these lines. And one of the two characters is a trans woman, though I wasn't able to bring that up naturally in the story. Edit: Yep, this inspired me to write a full AU story with the characters mentioned above! It's called "Call Me By Your Name".
