5:20 I love that scene too Tyler, the contrast of the fancy Shabbat of the Pharisees down to the lowest possible meal with a dog (which were not as revered then as they are now) Beautifully done!

I have too many favorites to pick one, but I love the dog shabbat as well as the Nicodemus scene after he drops the gold bag off, and watches Jesus and the disciples head out. Those scenes are subtle but profoundly express the left outness that many on the outskirts of a Christ centered relationship feel. Those could easily be descision tipping points for many seekers. Brilliant writing and acting.

I dunno if it's just me but it always brings a smile on my face every time I see a new BTS video with the classic Justen Overlander commentary. As I live on the other side of the world, it's mostly at the end of the day that I get to see the BTS video ... somehow it brightens my otherwise mundane 'Work from Home' day. Thank you for that. Trust me, it's quite a joy to see the mountains and the beautiful sky of Utah and all the action that goes around even as you are confined to your home space. God bless you all. I thank the writers so much for dreaming up that clip where Matthew is having the Shabbat dinner with the dog---hands down is my favorite scene. As an introvert I related so much to it and as a result Matthew is honestly my favorite character in the Chosen. That scene was almost like the presence of Holy Spirit saying: "I see you, and you will never be alone"

Yea! Justen! I said how much I loved these behind the scenes videos in my comment on your “calendar” pose, and, then, here one comes. Thank you! I loved the Shabbat ending as well at the end of episode 2. Perfectly shows the pomp and display of the Pharisees’ dinner juxtaposed against the “normal” and poorer people. The scene with Matthew and his dog was heartbreaking. It makes me cry now. Even though he was hated by both his own people and tolerated by the Romans (although as the season progresses we see how fond Gaius is of him), he still wants to be a part of the religious traditions. And before anyone says none of that scene is in the Bible, we know from our reading of it, historical writings, and how the traditions have been carried down into Judaism today that the scenes could have very well happened just as The Chosen showed. The words of the Bible now jump off the pages for me. I also love the Old Testament or years earlier flashbacks that open the episodes. I AM VERY EXCITED FOR SEASON 2!

Somehow this one slipped past me and I just now watched it. That was a great behind-the-scenes. I can see there is lots of humor like "looking for a Baby Ruth". Good one! Quiet hammers are hard to come by. I can only imagine how hard it is the find a quiet saw! lol The sets are amazing. I would love to watch them being built. Lots of artistry and skill there.

It was pitiful yet sweet seeing Matthew eat with the dog out in the streets. I'm sure a lot of people had their moments of eating alone. I know I have but I tend to imagine (and often feel) Jesus is there, next to me, accompanying me. He did say He would be with us forever, even until the end of the world. *Btw, will Matthew be reunited with the dog? And has Matthew named the dog?* 🥰

@Nan - If my memory is correct, Dallas did mention in an interview that dog is not coming back because it’s not easy filming with animals. In the stricter filming protocol climate and in the scheme of things, we can do without it as that scene looks somehow modern to me (for contemporary viewers to understand) & it’s one of the creative license scenes too.

I was thinking of another good idea for cameos. Okay, picture this: Jesus comes to get baptized by John the Baptist and Matthew is writing for his Gospel the details. Jesus ascends, like a dove, and from a cloud comes...wait for it...Keanu Reeves as God’s visage saying in this loud but really cool and pleasantly awesome voice how pleased He is and how proud He is of His son. I know that’s so fanciful and just downright ridiculous but can you see it? I thought of that the other day and I just could NOT stop giggling!

Encouraging everyone to donate a little and finish the donations for season 2. It was not their fault that they had to add nearly 10% more to deal the the additional protocol to film during corona. I;ve been cheering and watching and it seems that giving has really fallen off since the last episode was completed but this wasn't their fault they had to pick up the additional costs to film. Was hoping that Giving Tuesday would finish the donations for season 2 and we could start funding season 3
