That stihl 420 really is the choice of the pro's. Funny thing about the comments about roughing up your level: The small but renowned hardscape company I was working for a while ago has pretty much the same process as your company. From the base stone, paver selection, to using a level to screed with the bars; and even choosing the concrete edging over plastic. I definitely recognize how high quality your whole methodology is.

The 9 inch Milwaukee is our favorite saw for tight curves, quick cuts even long cuts. Rarely pull out the 420 anymore. Need a lot of batteries though so it’s an investment. Super easy to handle light weight I love it

That Milwaukee saw did a good job cutting man. I wonder how the blades you use from HD would work with that saw. Nothing like a 95 degree day to make a ton of cuts!! Another great walkway guys

Great work. Do you find a skid is a better first investment compared to an excavator ? Im trying to decide what’s a better initial investment. What would you recommend ?
@TheChristianHardscaper8 күн бұрын
Thank you. And yes I do. Skid steers get much more use on Hardscaping / Construction jobs than Mini excavators. It is awesome to have both, but if it is one or the other, buy the skid and rent an excavator when necessary. You will find it much more beneficial.

Stihl,s digital saw has the feature with the water. Milwaukee that’s there second saw battery well 3 in total have the 9inch 1. And they had a 12inch 1 also which was horrendous. Have the stihl tsa 300 battery run time isn’t the greatest but it’s few pounds lighter than the 410 Stihl gas saw. Do super like it get full power right last part battery non other market don’t have this can see the performance tool getting effected as battery drains. 1 negative on stihl like when brought 9inch 1 out 2015 the guard can’t be adjusted. Good feature get 110mm depth cut on 12inch blade.
@TheChristianHardscaper7 күн бұрын
That's good to know about the Stihl models. And I know Milwaukee doesn't have a ton of history with cut off saws, which is why I am pretty impressed with this one. To cut that good and have those nice features with one of the 1st generations of saws is impressive to me. I think they will just get better from here. And the big batteries last a long time... ✌

Maybe the Milwaukee saw would cut better without that Milwaukee blade and a better diamond blade would be cut closer in speed to the Stihl.

Good video. You need to use the reversible compactor like a reversible. Drive it into the corners and reverse out. It saves time and you get better compaction in the corners. kzbin.inforUu0SwCVnY8
@TheChristianHardscaper8 күн бұрын
I hear you on spots like that, but some corners are just best to hit with the hand tamper while you are going around the edges anyway. I think the best part of the reverse is in a trench, works mint. 👌
@peterspatiolandscapeinc.20108 күн бұрын
@ definitely. Some corners you can save some hand tamping and often you can save hand tamping along the edges. They do shine in trenches though. I’m looking forward to see how the battery life is on the Milwaukee compactor and saw. The saw is about twice the price of the Stihl 500i saws we run so I’m very curious about the battery life on it.
@TheChristianHardscaper8 күн бұрын
@@peterspatiolandscapeinc.2010 Yeah that saw is expensive comparably... I was very impressed by the battery life, you can compact and cut for a long time on one charge. ✌

I genuinely enjoy your videos so much, but every time I see you and Benny cutting with no mask or hearing protection, I cringe. Please do yourself a huge favor and wear protection. Coming from someone with permanent tinnitus.. You're killing yourself and Benny by not wearing a mask. Symptoms from silicosis may not show up for years, but I promise you are doing damage to your lungs.

Second this, with the utmost respect. As a carpenter/contractor, I spent many years not thinking about any of this. As i approached my mid 30s and 15+ years on the job I was starting to notice the damage done. I wear a noise canceling Bluetooth headset 100% of the time and I put on the mask and sometimes the goggles whenever necessary. Investing in good quality PPE went a long way in making it an easy transition. Cheers brotha!
