Very nice! I miss Larry showing his US type coins. Was a big inspiration for me to attempt a 20th and 19th century proof type set. Anyhow, amazing coins Ben, none of which are close to obtainable in the middle to advanced numismatist. These coins are all wealthy only items. However, I’m not hating on that, I commend those who can afford it and appreciate seeing videos like that for those who can’t! Have a Happy 4th gents!

I'm 65 and been a coin collector 54 years . My 2 best coins are a 1820 dime VF35 and a 1834 VF25 that I won in a high school poker game in the late 70s . My parents had their honeymoon in Reno in 1948 and purchased the CC Morgan silver dollar set . Now the story goes my mother sold the set to her workmate in the sugar company office , around 1960 for face value . I was 2 years old lol . When mom would take me to coin shops in the 70s , she told the owners her story . Not as glorious as items in this video but are tops on my chart

Super well done as usual Ben. I like how you kept the views and the background very objective with a subject that's easy to become very subjective. At the end of the day, market forces are what they are. While most of us have our personal views, none of us are larger than the market and the view and opinion it beholds. The market always has the last word. I think this piece did a great job of respectfully reminding people that there's forces out there larger than any of us. Blake (SCMG).

Hi Ben. That 1792 Half Dime looks like it was lacquered at one time. Lacquer was used to protect the coin in the past. The three early 1800s Half Eagles are very cool. The 1830 in 66 is amazing. The 5D/o is neat. I like the 1796 half-dollar. PCGS lists the price at $275,000. 👀BOING! The 1900 Double Eagle with a cameo finish is beautiful. The 1908 St. Gaudens Double Eagle with a matte finish is amazing. It is my fav coin of all the coins you showed. I wouldn't pay any more than face for that gold bar. The 1877 Morgan Half-Dollar pattern is very cool. As you said about the Double Eagle St., the copper Morgan looks like a modern bullion round. I like the toning on the copper. The silver pattern is cool. The 1848 "Cal" Quarter Eagle is sweet. Some say that it is the first US commemorative. It looks to have a slight cameo. Nice! 68* is crazy. The Matte St. would be my single coin pick. Thanks for showing those great coins.

Awesome vid and coins! But that 68* Cal gold piece has a couple pretty obvious pin-like scratches running horizontal across the cheek….the lofty 68 therefore seems way out of bounds. Wow that ingot is outrageously cool.
@okgroomer1966 Жыл бұрын
They're not scratches and Ben explained what they are. I'm gonna take his word for it over a guy who saw the coin on video
@OM-sb2bd Жыл бұрын
@@okgroomer1966 Ben was talking about the extensive die polish lines in the fields NOT the couple of pin-like scratches running parallel on the cheek … the die polish is a normal part of the die prep … but the cheek scratches qualify as marks that should limit the grade.
