I own two PL 8 reales, one of them is 63PL and one is just labeled 62. They're really hard on the 8 reales for PL, I've seen DMPL morgans with less mirrored surfaces than my 63PL and the 62 id have called PL as well.

Hey Ben... you mentioning that you thought it was a 55, not a 58... well I recently had an experience with NGC... bought some modern quarters graded MS67 that clearly were not! I thought they should have been 66s and 65s... thankfully I was able to return them, I hope this isn't a new trend for NGC!

Back in the 70's I bought a beautiful group of Mexican 8 Reales and Pesos ranging from 1860 to 1909. They were all high grade, 63-64, and were selling for bullion at a Mexico City coin shop. They had drawers full and I cherry picked the best. I've been hooked on Mexico coins ever since, though not taken in by over priced new Libertads.

Would love to see more on medieval coins. I'm surprised that they generally don't go for more. There's an ebay seller, holdinghistory, that seems to specialize in these. But the list prices are so low. I know nothing about these type coins but now very intrigued
