I would have been disappointed with that Scrawlrbox too. Luckily they now offer past boxes to non-subscribers again, so I can pick the boxes I like. Hope the move goes well - I still remember when you moved in… Looking forward to seeing the new cave in action soon! 😊

I'll be happily waiting for new videos from the new cave :) I really like the Karin deco brush markers, got my 4 that came in a ScrawlrBox still and I plan on adding on to them in the future.

The Scrawlrbox, kinda hit or miss. Can’t wait to see what you do with those wonderful Karin decobrushes. I can’t afford any Karin markers, so I’ll live vicariously through you. 😅

I'm going to miss you till you're up and running 💓 One time I bought a box of 12b pencils by mistake.😅 I use them periodically but at first I was a little taken back. 😂 I really love the whole idea of the graphite and gold. You said the gold ball could be the sun...made me have a memory of being in Maui. Golden sunset every day ☀️

Hullo Gem, I am sure that you will experience a smooth move! Well I am sure everyone is hopeful that this is the case for you and Mr. Gem. I imagine that Scrawlrbox spoils their subscribers most months so when they do have a month that might be a bit “skimpy” or more close to actual value, most are a bit disappointed. I do love the Karin brush pens , I purchased a basic 12 color set of the pigment pens and they are truly lovely! I follow the Artist Karanseerah and he does amazing artwork with these markers! Super florals too!

The Scrawrlbox has some of my favorite supplies BUT, as you pointed out, the charcoal (white + black) does not layer over the graphite. So…….IDK what to do.

I like the Upcrate box this month, though I honestly have some issues with it (you'll see once you do art with it). scrawlrbox I don't personally get anymore, but this one is quite... cheap? I dunno... good luck with the move, Gem! goodbye old cave! looking forward to the new one 😊

I love how your reference point is alcohol based. 😂 Well, if I'd opened those two, I would have been much more impressed with the Upcrate box than this month's Scrawlrbox. I was expecting something more colourful for a summer box, and I'm seriously underwhelmed. I wish they had put gold leaf in cos I feel like the marker is a bit 'meh' having seen that lovely shine on the art card.... Ooh, I've still got some gold glitter left from a really old Scrawlrbox! 🤔 Good luck with your move! I hope it goes smoothly. 😊

The Kaarin Decobrushes are on my dream pen list, but they are insanely expensive and NEVER go on sale, in the U.S.. The Upcrate artist has definitely shown up in animated commercials here, so it's fun that you got to play with her process!

I agree with the cost of the scrawlr box - and was what I felt when I opened it. The tracedown paper is possibly the thing that brings the overall value up (it's not something I've come across before). Somewhat disappointing.

white pencils are meant for coloured paper. transfer paper is used for for example watercolour paper because you generally do not want to use an eraser on that. That box was shit though - those graphite pencils look like they're from the Action lol

I was so disappointed with this Scrawlrbox, I cancelled it for a few months because the price went up (and I own loads of supplies) but I decided to use my £15 worth of points to grab a box, after seeing some quite fun ones recently. Then this came. A pencil is a pencil for me, I own a million. The marker isn't very delicate, very clunky and hard to actually create anything, and the white charcoal didn't work with the other supplies at all, no way to add highlights it just made everything blend grey

@@TheColourCave the graphite one they did a few months ago was at least interesting and different, with the jumbo graphite stick, the clutch pencil, the mechanical pencil - it at least felt like an exciting box. This one felt like the tin of pencils you got in year 7 to go to school with

Agreed! I had the best fun with the clutch pencil - just goes to show you sometimes a pencil is not just a pencil! 😂

I wish I could get a refund on the Scrawlrbox. ☹️ Really not feeling it and to add that I had to pay for shipping as well... One of the absolute worst boxes I've seen. Especially since they had a very similar box only six months ago.
