I also like the idea of outlining or showing up on tracker when an enemy is spotted like what happens to the flag in CTF. Everyone would run to that location to cause mass chaos.

Really enjoying this content from you Walsh! You should consider releasing the audio as a podcast as well. It's just a more convenient format for this type of content. There's nobody really podcasting about competitive Halo and you could easily fill that void. Between this and the interviews you've done with other players, I can tell you have a lot of valuable insight to contribute. Whatever you decide, we all appreciate you staying active in the community.

He went on to play you at the 1v1 in Halo Nationals 2 in Philly and lost. I was blown away at his level of skill and started following you after he lost to you.

I think a spotting system like battlefield would work in halo 5, having an enemy show up on everyone's HUD, like an outline, for around 3-5 seconds after being spotted, but have a system where they can't constantly be spotted. And you'd need an ergonomic button to spot like in battlefield, the d-pad as mentioned wouldn't be comfortable enough to consistently tap, perhaps quickly zooming in on the enemy via "smart link" and having them show up from that. Also, the competitive debate is great, but the brunt of players are social and they have been neglected in h5. We need the upcoming social playlist to be constantly refined, not just arena. REQ funding competitive play generates some interest, but halo needs variety, as halo always has. Warzone is great but doesn't substitute for a social playlist with bigger maps and a variety of modes.

as a hardcore halo fan for over a decade I daresay it's losing its competitive players to games like cal of duty and titanfall. when I'm fed up of US servers I play titanfall. miss halo and come back to it just to be disappointed. unless something changes, one of these days even i won't come back.

Radar in Destiny is the reason why it took almost a year before I started seeing COD style, corner campers. Camping is unsuccessful because they show up a minimum of once every 5 seconds. I watched my radar constantly and MURDERED every potential camper I met. When I got killed in Destiny it was because they were better than I was or I was already weak. COD doesn't have a motion tracker and I remember it being tent city. Remember that solo players don't have the benefit of cooperative teammates calling out enemy positions. Take away radar in the lower levels and blindly sprinting everywhere and mashing your melee to shoulder charge will become the meta for the rest of us. It's already the prefered method of close combat in platinum and below.

so after seeing the entire vid i still think its great. however. if i may give some advice: first of all the timestamp but that was already mentioned( keeps it more watchable for everyone). also i would try not to constantly point out you think its such a great game or that they are doin well overall. its good to mention this sometimes but at a certain time you get the point. what i mean to say is: people who watch this want the best for the game as well and like the game. try to really only focus on specific thing that are good or bad. and point those out rather than sayin: i think the game is really good or stuff like that. also and i think you will probably try this. but get some pros in on the skype call and ask them about some specifics. keeps it interesting. other than that great work and i think it opens up a great way to express what we want out of the game cheers

mcc maps did my head in, like you said only 3 good ones man, they could of made so many more good maps, a lot more effort for a lot more replayability, such a selection, should of remade all the best maps from all the titles, like the pit, ivory tower for examples

The games great and reminds me of ce's fluidity and it is very balanced. Make a btb casual playlist with ar pistol starts like everything else is... Why they put cheesy br start shit on btb and made it ranked is beyond me. The only good btb map I can tolerate is basin .Remove br starts from btb. The last mechanically skill demanding game I played for console other than halo 5 was ce. It's great to get that feeling once more. Ty 343

Also, disagree with the Simms on the sniper talk. With every weapon being more OP and gameplay being more fast and ntm maps being so small, the sniper has to be better or else it'll be like the beta where it was largely neglected as it was hardly a 'power weapon'.

You both metioned and talked about the motion sensor in the game, but I didn't hear any mention of the broken spawning system. How is a supposed "skill-gap-based" game worthy of that description if someone can spawn 10-15 feet behind you and do clean-up after you just finished an engagement? Rewarding players for lucky spawns? Literally the first Halo to ever have this bad of a spawn system....

@Walshy, At about 8:00 you talk about skill gap then start talking about BR start vs Pistol or DMR start. i personally agree with you but you gave the example of trying to push for control. I think most of the players who are saying BR start is better are the people who are of less skill (no offence to anyone, seriously) or people who casually play Halo. They just want a game they could feel dominant at vs one that involves a little more skill. I'm sure most of the pros prefer Pistol start just for that reason, for more of a fair fight.

i watched a video on this and how gaming works and how too make gamers keep playing games. The video goes on to say that there are 4 different types of players in games the adventures the socialists the hunters and there's another type but basically you need all four types in a game too make it successful. As dumb as it sounds this is why call of duty is so successful because in the beginning of blackops 2 all the way through blackops 3 thats out now they have kept these 4 types of people now there is an equation with these four types. Is that you don't want the hunters aka pros going against others that dont care if they get destroyed these would be social players because social players dont care if they get destroyed. you want a balance of all these players and the least of them being hunters aka pros as weird as it seems. these players make it unfun to play the game to alot of players and these top tier players dont have fun beating up on these players time after time. Thats why halo 3 was so successful because it had social playlists and ranked playlists. you need social players to improve the game. This is why i switched to call of duty a long time ago but when i really want to try my butt off i come to halo cause everyone is trying like really hard. And thats why halo decreased a lot in the years also it was just the lack of support from developers and not listening i for one still am against sprint i mean halo plays way better without sprint and everyone knows it. but thats a whole different topic.

+Jared Dion The Fourth is The Creator. This is something that Halo 3 did extremely well, which is why it is considered by some to be the best Halo. Personally I feel like Halo 5 should have been held until they could launch with forge and the social playlists.
