"Near fatal" is a very specific term, that has a very specific meaning to it. If I get into a "near fatal" car crash, it means I sustained injuries that could have - and has done for others - resulted in my death. In other words I would have been _badly_ injured, and only _just_ survived. This is NOT what happened to Harry and Meghan, since no actual collision _even occurred_ - there _were_ no injuries to either of them. Not even a paper cut. That is NOT "near fatal" and makes a mockery of every person who actually _has_ suffered immensely with horrific injuries that almost killed them!! Words and phrases have meanings, people! We need to stop throwing around terms as if they mean nothing in a pathetic attempt to garner sympathy or sell stories! There's been enough words and phrases that have had their meanings completely usurped and altered - this should not be one of them.

@@theteachingromance Indeed! And same. The more accurate term they perhaps _could_ have used is "potentially lethal". Its just one word different, but it alters the meaning dramatically. Although in this particular case, I still dont think it qualifies for even that, since by all accounts high-speed wasn't involved and nor were dangerous maneuvers that could have proven fatal if things hadn't gone their way. Sounds to me more like they were merely followed ... perhaps a little too closely and determinedly by the paparazzi. But nothing _really_ that out of the ordinary for them, all things considered. Harry and Meghan just didn't like it, is all. And that's a _very_ different story to what is being plastered everywhere. And my response is "tough shit" - whether they like it or not they _are_ still Royals, and paparazzi attention unfortunately comes with the territory. Especially in countries with free press like the UK or USA.

I keep saying this, Princess Diana died partly because their driver was drunk and partly because they were not wearing seat belts, their security guard survived the crash as he was wearing a seat belt. Also one of the first things I noticed is that none of the three of them were wearing seat belts. I heard there were 4 people "chasing" them and wasn't one of them on an ebike.

I dated a narcissistic, ego and pride filled chick years ago that absolutely destroyed me mentally (physically beat me as well) and it’s crazy when I look back because I was a totally different person. Like literally not the same person I am truly. I cringe so hard and am disgusted by what I’d say or do to the people closest to me all for “love” then all of a sudden I woke up one day after 2 years in that relationship & my mind went to “wtf am I doing with my life I’m stupid af”. I can’t touch her, defend myself etc. or she’ll scream bloody murder why can’t I just get that restraining order?! The amount of police I saw when I was with her? Maybe 2 a month, now? None. Never. My life became infinitely better thank the Lord after I broke up with her. She wouldn’t leave me be for years she even tried to claim I did terrible things to her but the cops dismissed it right away knowing her track record. Be careful fellas, ladies as well but my guys women are weaker so they’ll beat you mentally.

To be honest, I always thought there might be a reasonable justification for Harry and Meghan's decision to leave the royal family. Even a part of me sympathized with Harry after reading "Spare." But the more I think about it, the more I realize that Harry makes it sound like he's the only one suffering while William receives a little to no leniency when it comes to the palace's protocols (since he's the Heir) while dealing with his own trauma after losing Diana. I find it egotistical of Harry for leaving without considering how his actions may affect his brother. It's ironic how Harry fights for his family's privacy and talks about his hatred toward the press, but then he openly talks about the RF's private matters in his book and pulls a stunt like this. He may have been interpreting the Nature's signs incorrectly all this time.

Security experts have said they should've stayed at the Carlyle (most high profile people do if they don't own a home) in NYC to ensure proper security. Harry & Megan asked the hotel to give them a free room suite (6-10k per night) and the hotel said no so they stayed at a friend's house because they were cheap and it compromised their security. After a 10M Netflix deal, they can't pay for 1 night at a hotel. LOL they sound like cheap influencers always trying to get everything for free. Harry won't release the footage because he wants to sell it to Netflix for his next documentary. They monetize every aspect of their lives.

It's ironic they left the UK to get away from the tabloids and paps, to a Country with less regulations. There is a press rota for the Royal family so each media group takes their turn taking photos when they are on official visits, then share them. The photographers only take photos of the kids first day of school each year, just like every other kid in the UK. (Usually standing on the front door step of the home, it's tradition)

They were not "hounded" by the paparazzi. For one, 4 photographers were there, including 1 on a bike. The South Parkles called them to take their picture as they were leaving the event. That's why the left from the main exit instead of the parking garage. Both Hank and Skank are smiling ear to ear in the photos. The paparazzi were instructed by Harold and Fraud's security team to follow them to a restaurant. Then they changed their minds and made up a drama.
