Naomi, one of the finest ladies in Country Music History. Wynonna Judd has one of the best voices in History. The two together were a powerhouse of vocal perfection which complimented each other perfectly. *Ashley and Wynonna, thank you for sharing your mom with the world. Her laughter, smile and love are now etched forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Deepest Condolences to you and the family.* *Country Music will always have this as an example of musical perfection. Rest in Comfort Naomi, you will be sorely missed.*

A pair of beautiful voices and women. My heart and prayers go out to Wynonna and all of her family for the loss of her mom today. To all of us she was a star and beautiful voice, but most of all she was a mom which is greater than anything else. I recently lost mine and know how much sorrow it brings. Heaven gained yet another angel today. God bless everyone.

Well, said. I lost my mama in 1995! Then, every mama who died since reproduced the same pain only double: once for them and once for me. I use to sing with my mom when she'd play the piano or accordion and MY daughter and I have sung together; it is an absolute JOY! I cried the FIRST time I watched this and NOW It's just that much worse.

I saw the one of the last performances in Colorado with Randy Travis opening for them. An honor I will never forget. I was walking by the stage during g a break and one of their crew tripped and fell on me carrying drinks . I was soaked from head to toe. I looked up to see these ladies watching. I heard Naomi say oh no we need to help her out. They took me under the stage and found me dry clothes. They let me keep the shirt that said road crew and signed it. A beautiful and wonderful gift that hangs on my wall. Thank you for the music. RIP Miss Naomi Judd

RIP Naomi. May God comfort your family at this time. I enjoyed your music my whole young life. I have gotten standing ovations singing the grandpa song and have mercy. I have been dealing with chronic depression since I was a teen. I almost ran away with the guy I dated in high school to get married. Looking back I would probably be in jail because we weren’t compatible. There have been times I wanted to end my life. Came close a couple of times . Y’all are the best group ever.

And Naomi was still so gorgeous, at 76. Great actress, too, like in movie Song of the Season, which she wrote an amazing song for. She and Allison Pill did it as a duet; so beautiful. "River of Time". It was a hard journey getting to where they did, but Naomi got them there and chose the most important things to do for their needs and growth with extremely limited funds. You can go though austere years like sleeping 3 to a bed, no TV, not even garbage pickup (they'd take it to town), do laundry in the sink, and come out not only OK, but stronger for it. Both girls grew to be talented and successful. But Naomi is the one I will always admire so much. So pretty, such a great sense of humor and whimsy, and so talented with people and her art.

@@carolynmalone9871 Naomi, the mother hen, wrote many of their songs. She sang harmony and their two voices were amazing together. Naomi had a smooth, slightly deeper voice, and always wanted her Wynonna's voice to be heard the most. Part of the time in each song she remained silent and just proudly smiled at her daughter. The harmony was so special. When she was retiring from the duo and not touring any more, Wynonna was worried about going it alone, but she didn't need to worry; she was brimming with talent. Naomi was the front person, working the audience with her happiness and talent. She was also a great actress who was fun to watch. My favorite is "Song for the Season", a Hallmark Chrustmas movie with Abdy Griffith, Gerald Rainey, and Allison Pill, an amazing young singer she did a duet with, of a song Naomi had written. She played a HS music teacher. The little white dog at her movie "home" was actually one of her own. Her other daughter, Ashley, is a very talented actress, and has done a lot of great movies. A Time to Kill and Double Jeopardy with Tommy Lee Jones, were two big hits she was in. Very talented family that had a hard life for a long time.

Ah, HARMONY, must be something from Heaven, that singers just "tap in to?" to be closer to the Lord in the ethers, yes ? THEIR HARMONIES. Back in the late 80's I was offered a position to "Open " for the Judds by the Marion County , Activities Department, I think they called it, for their county fair committee of some sort, in Ocala, Florida-based upon a cassette tape I'd sent in with an original song on it. That year my " Who's Sorry Now" won sort of a contest in Ocala, too..but with all of that summer humidity, I could hardly wait to get back to Sunny, Dry California, I didn't stay for the performance! (And I think contests are pretty stupid btw!) " Lyin' Cheatin' Stealin' Son of a Gun" ha RIP: They say the good die young? Remember those who mysteriously didn't make it beyond the age of twenty-six. Just as Jesus' dear friend Lazarus was asleep in the grave before Jesus' called his name and raised him back to life, so it is with Naomi -- she is asleep in the grave where she will remain until the resurrection. Eccl. 9:5-6 reminds us: "For the living know that they shall die: but the dead know not any thing, neither have they any more a reward; for the memory of them is forgotten. Also their love, and their hatred, and their envy, is now perished; neither have they any more a portion for ever in any _thing_ that is done under the sun." Also, Psalm 115:17 says, "The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence." In Gen. 3:19, God spoke plainly to Adam and Eve, and told them: "In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou _art,_ and unto dust shalt thou return". (See also, John 5:28-29; John 11:11-15, 23-26, 39-44; Matt. 27:50-53)

I had the wonderful opportunity to have met Naomi and Wynonna on more then a few occasions, the type of work I was involved with allowed it in addition to many other public figures. The Judds were very pleasant, accepting, warm, easy to speak with, after all people in public eye are human just like us, difference is their job entails performing, more well known due to the nature of the job. The performance permits to take us away but if just for a moment in time to another world of forgetting our troubles, it does the same for the performer as well. Music is an exchange of energy of emotions between artist and audience, a slice of heaven where everything in the outside world is forgotten, a moment of blissful opportunity for us to be in touch with our feelings, sometimes the song touches a spot where we release tears, there's a fraction of healing in music and community of gathering. Music is emotions applied to lyrics, tones and melody, it's birthed out of emotions. Everything we do and create is birthed out of emotions. My greatest hopes is we never forget, we don't ever have amnesia from what she struggled immensely with like millions of people do. The stigma of mental health has to be stopped. The brain can become unwell just like any other organ in our body. When a person is born with a heart defect, their lifestyle has to be different then a person born with a healthy heart, if not their life expectancy is shorter. If a persons family has chronic mental health in their gene pool, if they're exposed to traumatic events or succumb to trauma, likelihood of triggering setting off imbalance of chemicals in the brain and effecting central nervous system is high, sometimes it can never rebalance, even through extensive treatments, they're resistant to treatment. Just as with a family with inheritance of diabetes, a family member can carry the gene however if they live a healthy lifestyle, odds are greater in their favor for gene not triggering. If we knew a person had diabetes, we're not going to oblige in asking them if they want a piece of cake, we'd know it's harmful. If we evolve to a place where we can speak openly about mental health, we can arrive to a place a person can freely mention they have temporary or chronic struggles therefore it will change the approach in how we speak to them. If the cake would effect the diabetic, the nature of words we use and our tone would be accommodating to the person struggling with mental health. The word mental is a variation of the mind, it does not mean crazy, health is to do with condition. There's physical and mental health. What would happen if a person felt shameful sharing with anyone they had a broken bone, they felt so utterly shameful they kept it a secret, because of the shame they didn't want to visit a doctor? It goes untreated, means no healing. In able to freely share, they'll get advice from a family member, friend or even a stranger. They'll be concerned about how it happened, how much pain they're in, and advise to go to the ER or doctors. By not having "shame", they're freely able to share, therefore able to have support and treatment from a doctor. Family and friends will offer support to help with necessities if they're immobilized. As long as there's "shame"/a stigma around mental health, it means a person doesn't share the thoughts they struggle with, don't express their feelings, they either hide as much as they can, either behind a smile or behind closed doors, which follows not seeing a mental health doctor, equals no treatment, which could manifest into decline. Addictions which is self medicating to numb and escape feeling certain emotions, is from burying trauma, in addition trying to cope with life stressors, "not in all cases", sometimes it's rooted in people that have a very sensitive disposition, they're sensitive to energy, they feel extremely deeply, it's the nature of whom they are. There's some coping tools they can adopt to help navigate in the unfortunate reality that our species can be harsh, but their personality won't alter, it's part of their gene pool. We wouldn't want to try and strip someone of who they are, it's like breaking into a persons house and stealing. There's absolutely nothing wrong with being sensitive, as far as feeling deeply goes, there is a problem if our sensitivity is projected in a way it inflicts harm upon another person. Feeling deep in this world, having sensitivity is perceived as a weakness for most part, because our species is still operating from the survivalist mode, the mentality of the strong survive, survivalist perception is "strength" (most popular and powerful, wealth, status, most awards, most intelligent, talented, most attractive, biggest house, etc....), we were raised more on how to survive rather then raised on how to love. We've been living on a stage for generations performing, scared to show reality of ourselves, out of fear survival. We're overly competitive against each other due to fear for survival. Until we evolve into freely accepting our "humnaness" completely = able to discuss our burdens, trauma, our struggles, our shadow side/our flaws, our insecurities birthed from wounds, etc...., we'll not be able to heal collectively, therefore not evolve. Healing is done when we share, when we heal or at least manage the wounds our wounds will not project onto others, if they do bleed, at least we'll have the tools to resolve issues or reconcile. I understand fully it's frightening sharing the most intricate and delicate parts of ourselves within a species that perceives sharing the most human aspects of ourselves as weak, fear being taken advantage of, or looked at strangely, fear of rejection or abandoned from family, friends or society, but if want a healthier and loving species we'll have to. Our forefathers and mothers took leaps of faith and big risks before us to get us where we are today, we're here because of them, and one day future generations we'll be thanking us for taking risks. I'm not implying for us just to share with anyone, we must not do anything we feel will put us in harm's way, it be mental or physical, and also certainly must not do it if we're not ready, but if ever ready and safe to do so would be wonderful, if not ever ready it's ok too, doesn't mean weakness whatsoever, it's a personal right and choice, there's reasons known to person they don't feel comfortable doing so. ❤As Mrs. Naomi Judd stated in lyrics : "Love can build a bridge, between your heart and mine, love can build a bridge, don't you think it's time, don't you think it's time" YES IT'S TIME ❤🌉❤ I thank Mrs. Naomi for all that she's contributed to the world. I'm so incredibly sorry for her years of struggling the internal fight. Where there's love, we will survive. The old survivalist mode needs to be said goodbye to. When there's love it opens the door to our humnaness. It will provide to us the experience and emotions just like we do when surrounded together before the music. My deepest love and condolences to Wynonna and Ashley, their family and friends. My heart breaks for her daughters and grandchildren. They'll be in my thoughts and well wishes of comfort. ❤

By far, THE best female C & W duo ever...Their voices blend together in a great way, and their duets are absolutely timeless...Was lucky enough to attend a LIVE radio show (KRO) in 1985 and still remember that event with great pleasure....May I say: the female fantastic Everly Brothers!?
