You know, when _Mommie Dearest_ first came out, I believed it and thought Ms. Crawford was a tyrant. (In my defense, I was only 12 years old.) The older I've gotten, the more I've read, heard and observed; I now think that Christina was full of 🐂💩. I think it was a pathetic and petulant attempt for attention and fast money. I believe that Ms. Crawford was probably a stern and firm but loving mother. I believe Christina and Christopher were just butt-hurt over being financially omitted from Ms. Crawford's Will.

Actresses of today should watch this and take a class from Ms.Crawford. They don’t make them like her anymore. She was the epitome of Hollywood class. Very admirable how she lived in the NOW and never thinks back of the past. A lot of us wish we could do that. She is an inspiration. What a class act. You can tell she took every single role she played, seriously. I loved how she spoke of rehersing “too much” as if one might lose that initial realness of the reactions on film. What an absolute perfections she was, and you clearly can see and feel that in her films. Her poise and praise for the newest starlets was inspiring and ones of today should take note before they “shade” their fellow peers. Her honestly is so appreciated. Not to mention her eyeliner was perfection! Thank you for sharing this fascinating interview.

The jewelry and the dress are exquisite along with the coiffure, pulled back to emphasize the classic features of that legendary face. Was there ever a profile like that? I have read intimate letters from her to close friends and relatives, and she always speaks the same as she does in her interviews. @@soccermommyNPC I understood she only had a fifth grade education, which makes my point. The average person graduating from many U.S. High Schools today would not be able to compete with the literacy of a fifth grader of that generation. Joan is a genuine and courteous professional here with the British T.V crew. I love her kind words regarding Lionel Barrymore & George Cukor, and her humility when speaking of comments she made regarding Elizabeth Taylor. Joan Cawford is true class & dignity all the way! Thank you Bryan !!!

I have watched this interview no less than 50 times. Her poise, gentility, grace and strength shows no hint of her early life. As she was a conversationalist of epic proportions, her inner intelligence was something not many “stars” were known for. It make it difficult for me to believe what was in her daughter’s book. Perhaps the scenes were embellished to provide the maximum shock to fans and costars. We all have moments where we give in to frustration. As once a teen myself, I provided far more intensity to my own mother’s life! I continue to study Miss Crawford, finding only a woman of integrity and generosity, as opposed to the monster as was she often portrayed by her daughter. Joan is one of the few talented, intelligent, beautiful, dedicated and loyal “Stars” we will ever see. Thank you so much for this amazing opportunity to be part of your journey which is Joan Crawford. 🙏🪷❤️

I always loved Joan Crawford. When you see the absolute poverty in her early life and her spirit of survival and struggle for success you have to have complete admiration for her. I think a lot of the negativity is unfounded. Unless you’ve walked in her shoes how can you possibly know her journey? She was a great actress and a true star.

Joan’s eyes give her away. She holds on to her dignity so tightly and is vulnerable to an implied insult. Before the interviewer starts asking questions you can see the fear in her eyes. She seemed to fear the unknown, she wasn’t sure what was going to be asked, how she would come off. Once she hears that he sat through repeated showings of one of her moves ,she knew he was a fan, that she was in a safe space. The woman Christina her adopted daughter describes is not found here, not a trace. She has such dignity. A true legend. I agree with her the world needs Romance when they go to the movies.

Joan Crawford was such an amazing actress and my favorite movie is Mildred Pierce. I have watched this movie countless times ( maybe 30 ) and it still never gets old as the acting and story line are so good. If you have never seen it, take a look !

Joan Crawford made some fantastic movies, they really do not make them like this anymore, can watch and enjoy time and time again. Films made today lack so much of everything that made these movies so memorable.
