It's been a while! Lovely to see you around again. Also, you should not feel horrible about taking a break from (too much) youtubing, you should feel good about this! Taking a break should leave you feeling good and refreshed, not guilty about taking said well-deserved break.

I love learning about dyeing techniques, as I am fascinated by it, and want to understand it even though I have no plans to dye yarn myself. I really appreciate the content. Breaks are absolutely necessary and understandable, but I'm also glad you're back.

So glad that you're back! I've missed you on here. I love it when you talk about your techniques. It made me see it doesn't have to be complicated and makes me comfident that I can dye up my own roving or overdye yarns in my stash that I don't really use. Last year I specifically bought several balls of white yarn second hand just so I can dye them up to use with other yarns from my stash. Because we all have a few skeins of yarn that don't really match the others in our stash. This week I will attempt to dye one of those white balls of yarn with coffee, 'cause I'm running out of yarn for a specific project and the postage to have potential new yarn delivered is more that the cost of the new yarn. So experimentation it is!

Hi Hannah, really pleased to see you again. I totally understand about you having a break after doing advents. I love to watch different dyers doing their techniques. Your new oven looks fab. Enjoy your day x

I have been wanting to buy an oven for over a year now. I started dyeing yarn like I have one just to see if I would like that technique versus what I’m used to. It’s been a lot of fun playing around with different techniques. I hope you are enjoying your oven. It has to be amazing being able to dye that much yarn at one time. I’m a big speckler so I think that’s one of my biggest hold ups. Sorry for the book I guess I needed to get that out of my system 😂

This was so interesting and honestly affirming to see! I switched from hubs to oven 1,5 year ago and it has affected how a lot of my colorways come out. I sometimes feel like I'm a useless dyer because of it but it's very nice to see that you also have to do some funky work-arounds to make it work. And that it just isn't the same as dyeing on hubs - and that's okay. 💜 Some of my older colorways also have a lot of steps and I've had to reformulate some of them or I'd lose my marbles to be honest. I feel like I was using a lot of power by heating the yarn on hubs so I'm glad to have made the switch. Also the effeciency as you mention is worth so much. Dyeing yarn is hard work. 😅 Yay for ovens! Thanks so much for the peek into your everyday as a dyer. It can be a lonely job so it's very lovely to see someone else going through the same motions. 😊 Warm regards from Nina in Denmark // Midnatsstrik

Welcome back Hannah. Thought you had wore yourself out last year. I think all business owners need a break a the end of the year as you have all been gearing up for the Advents for December for Christmas and that is a lot of work. Take time out every year at this time for yourself. It is so interesting seeing how you dye your yarn. Hope the speckled ones worked out in your new oven for you. I also hope the markets go well for you. Take care

Thank you! Usually Vlogmas isn't as bad because I've wrapped up most of my business by December for the year. But with the collection taking 5 days a week and then helping Mario at markets twice a week, I was teetering on the edge of burnt out 😅 x

Everyones yarn is so different in that regard so fun to have a peek into why. Lovely to see you again. Thanks for sharing!

So glad to have you back! I've been living that forever-sweater life too. I'm working on a fisherman's rib collar of a cardigan (because I couldn't bother with a full brioche collar for 4" over 300 st). I'm also playing yarn chicken, which makes it a little more daunting

Hi there. I'm so curious about your oven. I'm wondering where you got it and if you have tips for where I might look in Canada to find one. Thanks!
@thecornerofcraft10 ай бұрын
I bought it from Adexa in the UK. I don't have any ideas for Canadian suppliers but restaurant supply businesses may have them. They're known as proofers or buffet carts/heaters x
