Brings back great memories of performing this with two others at the State Solo and Ensemble Contest in 1978. Craig Beals our Tenor, Kem Burnham our Baritone, and myself as Bass. We won the Gold for our division that year. Beautifully done Gentlemen. Excellent mix of voices.

Love how perfectly these men's voices blend together to produce such a pure, rich, and heavenly sound. Bravo!

Such a luscious men's choral sound. Congratulations to beautiful voices and sensitive, skilled recording engineer(s)! Just what I needed to hear this evening. Thank you, CORO Vocal Artists! What joy you must experience singing together. . . with a musical conductor.

This song is as fun to sing in an ensemble as it is to listen to.

Nice job, guys! I sang it many times with piano and once with an orchestra. The clarinet solo is absolutely gorgeous.

I agree. The tempo is fine. Diction and phrasing is excellent.

Too slow!? That’s funny. We sing the vocals just a bit slower at Wayne State. But anyway this literally perfect.

painfully slow... =( beautiful voices but at this tempo the song loses the energy of the loving invitation.

I'm pretty sure when the tempo of a piece like this is taken "painfully slow"" it allows the performers to fully utilize the chords and make this piece have meaning. This is beautiful.

H C thanks for replying. I get what you are saying. For me, though: I’ve performed this piece dozens of times both in my collegiate career and as a professional vocalist. I’ve adjudicated college choirs doing it, high schools too. This is by far the slowest I’ve ever heard it.

....a matter of personal preference I'd say 😎😎😎

Interesting. I've been singing this piece for over forty years and this is probably the fastest I'd ever sung it. Not uncomfortably so, but a few ticks beyond the usual. And yes, I'm also a professional singer and conductor.

@@Jeffertoya And it's GORGEOUS this way, isn't it? 😁 I've never heard it faster than this, and definitely wouldn't want to. No need to hurry through it - I don't run through a museum or rush through a nice dinner either!
