Yeah she completely screwed up God keep our land and sang Oh Canada again in the wrong verse. It was a mistake plain and simple, nothing to do with the French or Cree parts.

The only hate is coming from those who are blindly ignoring the specifics of what we are calling an error, the verse that she missed. It has nothing to do with the French or Cree parts in the song, it was that she sang Oh Canada again in a later verse instead of God keep our land, there was an awkward pause and booing to reflect this error. This was well before the Cree part so don't you dare make it about that.

@@hucz Based on all the comments I'd say you are the one trolling, so maybe you should just go home and hide in your dark cave. I'm not arguing that she didn't screw up because she clearly did, I'm just saying that nobody was booing her. She didn't sing that line but the fans that were there did. They said blue only once and at that exact timing. If it was really booing there's no way it would have been timed that perfectly, and only for one second. Trust me, I was at the game. Nobody was booing.

Its possible but it seems like an honest mistake to me. They were asking her to sing in 2 language's she doesn't know on the biggest stage shes ever been on. People think it could be a protest because it was on "god keep our land" but it was also the line she was supposed to change from french to cree so it would make sense for her to make a mistake on that line.

@@TimDyck You would never say "Oh Canada" instead of "god keep our land" in an attempt to let the audience join in. Either she made an honest mistake or she intentionally botched the line in protest. The way she froze after saying the wrong line suggests to me that it was an honest mistake. There was an article in the leader post the day before the grey cup where she was talking about singing in 3 languages and she said she hadn't spoken any french since high school and that she was learning cree and even talked about how good of a job she thought her teacher was doing to prepare for the event. So based on that I would say No she is absolutley not fluent in Cree.

I’m a National Anthem singer (yeah, it’s a thing) and yep, she flubbed it! We all do now and again. There’s lots of pressure. She still managed to finish and for that I give her kudos. Next time, hire me! (Oh, we don’t get paid!)
