It's lovely, I think, it's a video and a vlog, so I can take the best from both ☺ I liked when you say, referring to your younger self "Sometimes I still take inspiration from her". It's a lovely thought and shows love, which ìs so precious and made me think, as I also look at my past self sometimes, but with a negative shade of regret, cos of what I was and now I seem not to be (also not aknowledging I did change, in many ways) What you said made my brain work and I'll try to have a different attitude now. Can't guarantee I'll succeed, but I'll try ☺ I hope this wasn't too long and I hope it made sense 😅 Also, happy furry heart is better ☺

I don’t know what is involved for you in starting over again. For me, it was 56 when I got divorced and had to sell the family home. I was also MD of a large company which was both good and bad in that I was always busy but, equally, I never got to relax. I made a conscious decision not to go chasing anything for a while. A couple of years later, I decided to see what I could find. I used an upmarket seniors matching agency and had a couple of lovely days or evenings with 2 different ladies. Then along came number 3; that was nearly 20 years ago and we are very happy and married. For me, the greatest lesson that I had to learn was to like myself; forgive myself for the occasional failing and stop setting targets for every little thing (E.g. can I finish the dusting and be back from shopping by 12). For me, it made me a more settled person

Every time I have hopped on facebook or turned on the radio for an extensive period of time since, I immediately start feeling the negativity and my anxiety levels rising. So much about mainstream media focuses on the bad and is designed to encourage fear and division because that what seems to keep people engaged. I do not believe in that. I love that I found this on KZbin♥️☺️…. It seems I am in good company with likeminded folks! My husband & I lived off grid for a year before he became very ill. It was the most wonderful time in our lives. Now I am alone, but I love (crave)my alone time. I am trying to find my way to living in a quiet rural area again, by myself. (I’m living with my aunt now until I can decide where I want to live) you inspired me to keep moving forward! ♥️ many blessings to you 😊

Stopping watching the news helped my anxiety and depression so much. I have a friend who updates me on what I need to be aware of which doesn't trigger me like the fear inducing language and approaches of mainstream media. I also subscribe to good news & articles on kind actions which warms my heart and calms my soul 🙏🕯🕊💚💫

What a gentle blessing you are, I live alone in my little town house but I'm never Lonely. I embrace all my hobbies from painting watercolors, playing my guitars and writing music, to building and designing, to preparing all my breads and canning food, I enjoy my solitude and peaceful lifestyle. I do love to engage with gentle and kind hearted souls when I do go out but I honestly prefer to enjoy all the life experiences and talents I have acquired over the many years. I agree with you about surrounding yourself with positive uplifting energy, this world is too full of destructive forces that will so easily snatch away what you treasure the most. You would be a good person and such a joyful element to anyone's life, your humble passion and tender nature is a treasure this world has overlooked. Be blessed and keep safe and always remember to listen to your inter-voice, I'm glad to have found you today and your positive energy and warm sunlight.

I love the talk of the healthy escapism can unhealthy. A lot of things I claimed I like were unhealthy escapism taught through childhood or just me having to be in survival mode. I used to like watching tv, daydreaming and a lot of other things. Even though I still enjoy those when I can, most of my unhealthy escapisms were laziness. I’ve rewrote the meaning of what a healthy escapism looks like, for me and true art. ❤️

My husband died of Covid in October. We had just become empty nesters and were in the process of selling our home to our oldest son and his family to raise all of their children in as the house was too big for just the two of us… now I’m swimming in it all alone. I love smaller places and would love to live in a tiny house. I have looked at them and studied them for years never dreaming one day I might actually be in the position of making that choice.

Every video is like a dessert for me, every minute I savor, enjoy every precious shot. Landscapes, chamber shootings in the cottage, focusing the camera on the details and of course the presence of lovely Paola herself in the frame is pure aesthetics and medicine for the eyes and ears. I feel that one video a week is not enough for me and I will have to come back and watch all the videos over and over again. And how much inspiration I get! Even today, despite the cold and strong wind, I will go to the forest for pine branches, cones and resin, beautifully decorate my house and drink pine needles tea with honey. And I will be happy, despite the fact that yesterday I was not fair fired from my job. With admiration from the Carpathian mountains of Ukraine.
I think the reason why I love this channel is because I really crave being able to enjoy the present moment. Being at a mental place where I can just enjoy what is right in front of me and be at peace with it. I've been struggling with chronic anxiety and depression since I was very young. Everyday I choose to fight for me and take steps towards having true inner peace. I know it's possible. This channel is, not only a peaceful space, but it inspires me to enjoy the present moment. When I can enjoy the present moment, the mental stress and anxiety slowly fades away. That is what living truly is. Thank you for sharing your life with us Paola. 💗💗💗

This was a recommended video to me this morning and I am just blown away by how it was sent to me at the right season of my life. I can’t articulate how calming and reassuring this was for me. I’ve began practicing a more mindful life and really just trying to honor my body and self and slow down. I seem to be met with a lot of opinions on how this isn’t “normal” but to me, it feels like everything up until now was abnormal. You spoke on mental health and addictions, so I’m going to be watching many more of your videos to learn your story and hopefully bring some of this stillness into my own life. So, THANK YOU. This 15 minute video brought some much needed validation into trusting my own intuition.

Also, I’ve had the thought process all week about how long skirts used to bring me so much joy as a child. The way they swished about my ankles and in my imagination I was a princess in a forest. So, today, I’m going to go find myself a swishy, ankle length skirt and allow myself to feel that freedom again. My inner child needs that. Again, THANK you and you have a new subscriber ❤️👏🏼

It's hard to trust yourself when others are pushing back. Slowing down lets you find your voice, which often seems to quiet as we lose ourselves to the demands of the world outside. Take time to heal, and to find yourself. Only you know who and where you want to be. Blessings and peace on your journey. Incidentally, I found a very positive channel, Beryl Shereshewsky (spelling?) shares food and stories and art, and is so uplifting!

The media can take over our lives if we're not careful and we can develop an unhealthy addiction to "the news" which really doesn't reflect the world at all, but merely a certain section of it. To switch off the media for a week and to turn our attention to our surroundings is far more real and wholesome. The small things of life and our involvement with them teach us far more than the daily news does. Thank you for reminding us of this.

Not sure how this landed in my recommendations a year later but the moment, today, was perfect. This is a time of monumental transition. This morning i found myself genuinely torn between doubling-down on the ‘driven’ life necessary to get ahead and turning the other direction - disembarking from that train entirely and wondering what that would be like. Then, your voice, this window into your deliberate quiet life lands in my lap? I’m inspired and grateful.

So many tidbits of wisdom in this sharing.... one that struck me deep was, "How you don't realize the impact media has on you until you step away from it." Highly resonant. More and more media chooses to focus on the negative, and has lost that sense of balance (if it ever had one). I wish for a media where positive stories, as she mentioned, are also highlighted as noteworthy. I too have stepped away from media, and have found immense healing in this practice. It's refreshing to share in this cleansing with others. * On a side note... Aegir is adorable... our Ugo looks so much like Aegir! Happy to hear his tooth is better. Please give extra cuddles from us.

I live alone but not alone because I live with three big dogs. We had a wonderful walk in the bush today. The trees were covered in snow and looked like a fairy tale. The river is still open and sounded like music. We walked for a couple of hours because the dogs were eager to run in the snow and I wanted to start looking for a small tree I could dig up and pot for my Christmas tree this year. When we got back we made sure my rabbits had lots of warm bedding and the water pump was free of ice. It was very quiet and peaceful. I’m going to spend time drawing this afternoon and will make a nice root vegetable soup for supper. I had a good crop of carrots, beets, potatoes and onions and herbs this year and I’m looking forward to a wonderful aromatic soup later today.
