Craig, you need to call it "The Stink Bug".

Craig gets a crappy run of the mill F250 and can't be more excited. Craig gets a unique bad ass little desert runner beetle with crazy suspension and Honda swap and calls it crap and garbage 20 times in the first 2 minutes of looking at it 😂 Ford guys are wired different

As a bug owner myself (stock one, not a baja) one thing that NEED to be changed if it is stock, is the steering! Not just the box or the column, THE WHOLE STEERING! That floatiness you described, a HUGE chunk of whats causing it, is the steering, SPECIALLY when lifted. Bugs are notoriusly known for having bad steering and much more problems, but i love them!

If it wont rev past 3 or 4k, inside the ecu you bridge the vss with the vtec solenoid and that will take it out of limp mode and allow vtec to work. Also you don't need the o2 sensors wired up. Also you probably have a perm code for no immobilizer chip.

That's honestly pretty sick I didn't expect it to have a v6, that's fucking awesome

That car looks a lot like a car that was on the news in San Diego a number of years back where the driver/builder was showing off and how it performed.

I vote for Dung beetle as its name. Fits it perfectly in my opinion 👌

You can convert a WRX transmission into a transaxle, and if you flip it upside down, it'll even turn the wheels in the correct direction for rear engine applications such as this. DK what to do to make it limited slip, but the point is; look into it if you want a cheap, relatively easy, and relatively solid trans option to replace the bus trans.

😂 You move that engine any further back and you might as well get it a trailer.

It’s stuck in limp mode because from what I can see there is no O2 sensors on that exhaust and the stock ecu definitely needs that to run properly

That ride height is fine. generally most decent bug rear setups are 80% up travel and 20% droop. At axles level there will be some angle back because as the suspension cycles it will move forward through the arc. This one might have the engine and trans too far forward, but not that much, maybe an inch or 2 at the most. but it has standard stub axles in the back reducing axle length, in turn reduces travel. with a 3x3 stub axle setup with 002 trans the most wheel travel you'll see is probably 14-15" and thats with 930s. with bus axles youre looking more like 12". I have a 3x3 micro stub kit with 930s and getting 16" was difficult while maintaining ground clearance. at 16" of travel im at 18 degrees of axle angle at full bump and 26 degrees at full droop. At ride height my axles are at 10 degrees. if I wanted to reduce my ground clearance at full bump to zero I could have 20" of travel, but being so rear biased, you want at least 4-5" ground clearance at full bump. As well as the fact your engine is back there you dont want to be slamming it on the ground every time you land, go through a G out, or go through whoops.
