Using up finds from the thrift shop!

Hello, everyone welcome to the creative Cove. My name is Michele and thank you for joining me today.
This video is just a fun compilation of finding goodies at the thrift shop. I’m an avid Thrifter, and truly believe in recycling goods and looking for bargains.With today’s prices and inflation, it’s always nice to have these options readily available. You just have to have the time and patience to dig through things and look for little treasures, which is something I happen to really enjoy doing. Todays video is showing how to use some of those goodies and picking up things that you might normally not think about using in your creative process. How to apply them in ways that maybe you hadn’t thought of before, by cutting up things and adding your own little personal sketches and touches. I hope this video gives you some inspiration. I hope you enjoy!

Yes I thrift...I've cut back this year..but I have enough stuff to do all kinds of journals, watercolor and acrylic art..love that material!!! I've bought material in clearance. Love your videos ❤❤❤❤

I actually make my own digitals & found some really cool chunky alphabet letters that are painted or collaged onto different coloured scraps, but need different colours. They’ve inspired me to make my own to scan, so I’m tearing letters & numbers out of some cool packaging paper, painting onto scraps, making some out of fabric & lace etc. I’m also thinking of making collage kits to sell, with a bunch of Gelli printed pieces, painted, embossed, stamped scraps, bits of fabric etc. and I’ll include some of those letters & numbers too

I thrift all the time. My favorite thrift store helps support the homeless. I picked up an old recipe box with those index cards. The box hinge was broken but I just wanted the index cards. I also pick up lace, doilies, vintage childrens books, anything that can be used in a journal. Seldom find useable fabrics. I got some great ideas today!

Great ideas for the little index files & coupons! You are so good at editing now🎉 Thrifting is so fun. Ours is hospice so I feel good about that. Be careful about copying images from books if you plan to sell your work because of copyright laws but if it’s pre 1922 it’s fair game I think. Some of this video repeated itself at the end lol. 😊

Gifted with old b&w photos. Having a great time using funny captions & applying to large vanilla colored index cards I also got a great grab bag of tickets and business cards at the thrift store. So much fun applying layers. Love your videos. Have surprised myself doing quickie sketches. Thank you for the instruction & inspiration!

Been making spring cards with watercolor and bunny stamps, trying to paint some lavendar on each one. Made some brayer pressed flower images on watercolor paper from the tiny spring weeds coming up in my backyard and then using a black fine liner on them .
