Ashwin is not playing bcz his batting is not great in aus while jadeja is best in Australia but aus has lot of left handers who are impact batters so to contain them they have Washington also his batting is better than Ashwin.

Ashwin is handy against Khwaja head starc Hazlewood. He has incredible record against left handers. His major role is to pick wickets. Not bat for a hundred😂

@@joylife428 That's not my point ,in australia spinners are not that important but as batting collapse usually happens in sena countries quite regularly you need someone who can have 50 runs partnership for 7th and 8th wicket will help and Ashwin generally does not have great record in sena countries as well bcz conditions are such he has to play holding role so it's better to have someone who can definitely bat well and bowl to contain impact players of opposition as in this case head,khwaja,Carey,starc.

@@joylife428 Ashwin is also good.Although, in Adelaide, day night game will make spinner not so effective. Although spinner can get 3 to 4 wickets but that is subjective to batting approach.In sydney, from last two years rain does have its say which has made spinner not so effective ,also bcz of la nina rain is supposed to happen in January so sydney will also be subject to condition. Spinner in australia is important but depends on condition bcz of use of drop in pitches and amount of grass curator lefts ,pitches from last two seasons have become seamer friendly.
