In the beginning you see yourself as an equal adult to the leaders but over time they devalue so much and confuse you so much you kind of lose touch with the real reality and buy into their fantasy reality. Devaluing the victim is the key to this process.

Excellent talk! I was conned by a group similar to Landmark. I think they should be illegal. Stealing material items and money is criminal, why is it OK to steal minds and lives?

Friends have done Landmark for years. It has helped them but I see the cult structure. I have declined any offers to join in.

A lot of companies apply this perverse techniques within the work environment to "have" control and to show authority, do they not? Why do they do that instead of allowing workers and employees to enhance their imagination and creativity?

Sounds like amway

mark richardson - there is something to be said about Multi-Level Marketing groups (MLMs) and the tactics they use on their consultants who buy-in to sell their product - Amway is among the biggest, top money making MLMs, and has consultant groups in many countries. To keep that up, they don’t advertise their product on tv or social media directly, they hipe their sellers to buy more from them (in MLMs, you usually have to keep “enticing” new people to come sell for the company “underneath you” - with them in turn getting people beneath them - this is because it’s very difficult (at Pyramid MLMs it’s literally impossible) to make a profit even as a great salesperson, just buying products from the company at your “consultant” discount, and selling them to your customers full price. Mostly because you have to keep using more than you make selling to buy more product - in general, if a new “line” comes out, or they make even minor changes in a product- or even packaging. This is part of where this video comes in: the company needs to be able to convince (control) its consultants to think they have to keep buying stuff so they can make money- and it’s not necessarily about having it for the customers! First, you have to buy a certain $ amount per month/designated period just to stay an active consultant, and then here is where those people you signed up to sell product come in: in Amway (and this is the basis of all MLM), you get a “percent bonus” - literally a check from the company, the amount of which is based on a percentage of the product bought by the people under you - and the people who signed you up to sell get a check based on a percentage of how much product you ordered, AND also from the people under you, and so on up the line. So, the incentive everyone (from the very top) has isn’t necessary to move product to the public, it’s to get everyone under them to buy lots of product each month/bonus period. It can take some serious convincing to keep people hyped in that cycle- getting them to use that bonus check to buy more product etc., trying to sell all the product you have, constantly mining your friends-of-friends to sign up new sellers to increase your down line- and keep everyone under you active and buying lots of product. It’s no wonder most MLMs are using at least some of this “brainwashing” type behavior to some level. (There is stuff out there about Amway, but if you want to compare it to an MLM that’s blowing up recently, there are a lot of news articles and news videos available right now about the clothing company LuLaRoe - another MLM, which is being prosecuted for acting as a Pyramid Scheme - the (former) consultants are telling their stories, and they sound very much like they were going through this same type of brainwashing/pressure programming/group mentality “cult-ish” experience - complete with love, loyalty, and fidelity to the leader of the company who has some kind of charisma (?) that inspired a “want to please her if it kills me” attitude in those who worked personally with her.)

A good starting point is downloading the book "Cults Inside Out." This will give you the ability to sort through and make choices regarding how best to move forward. Meanwhile avoid arguments and confrontation. See cultsinsideout.com/

Hi, my wife is in the critical stage of cult membership. She has been taken away from me. It is a self help cult I have seen all the signs as clear as I look at the palm of my hand. I need someone to talk to and share. Do you mind if I request to stay in contact with you and we share and discuss the symptoms? I need help I have lost her already. Her mind does not belong to her anymore. Any social platform you are ok with we could talk to each other
