Ya know a couple years ago his mentions of going home to his girls after long days to be a dad would never even strike me. Stainless surrounds for both turbos on that hood would help keep it pretty. Heat from the turbo and exhaust is going to burn that hood up around those areas.

It would add to the looks of the car, like the streaks coming from the Merlin exhaust stacks left on the engine cowling and the streaks left by the machine guns firing streaming back across the wing of a P-51 Mustang.

I reckon you’re right about scalloping out the hood a little bit to flow more air. Function > form. Could even make a little alloy half radius bit under the scalloped area to help with directing into the turbo

Scalloped, formed and riveted thin metal ducts would look cool as hell! I'm mildly concerned about some form of heat shielding around the turbine sides and downpipe to keep the hood from deforming or paint flaking away though!

May need some stainless heat shielding around turbos, or cleet will be pulling it off! Add in the half radius with a slice off intake tube. All in polised stainless would be ideal but matt black would look just as good. Love your work!

I was wondering how you were going to get those holes exactly the right shapes in exactly the right positions, Kev. Felt sure you had some Uber-smart trick method and in the end it was just a case of methodically measure three times and work your way down to perfection. No Cardboard Aided Design - Just a craftsman’s eye and patience. Good job, mate. You must have been dreading that! I’d need a lie down after that! LOL

Remember kids. Fiberglass by itself is a non flammable insulator. But the resin that holds it together contains epoxy and polyester which at certain temperatures can be very flammable. I hope all goes well without incident or fire. Heat wrap and blankets mite not be a bad idea for the hot side.

Skilled Craftsman aren’t cheap and cheap craftsman aren’t skilled. Kevin you do amazing work and KSR is going places! You do some fine work and truly pay attention to the details! I get tired of the, “Ehhhhh it’s good enough”. Is it good enough or is it the best you can do. More people need to have a similar mindset and positive attitude as you do and the world would be such a better place!

Yes, when he said years, I was thinking the term should be months. This car will have a bigger/more powerful engine in a year or two, unless Cleetus runs something else to go faster than this one. Just look at how fast they have progressed on the other builds.

I like the idea opening up the holes in hood in front of the turbos to allow for max air flow. A rifle bullet profile opening would look sick.
