You should have explained these *small green/red icons under the toon's power/health bar*. People should know that *lightning means Power Over Time is active* and red icons under enemy's bar are active debuffs. It's very crucial in my opinion because you need to know when you should recast PoT or debuffs in order to master your role and performance. Overall, good vid, it's really sad that sometimes in alerts role-less buff is better than noobie Controller.

Great job. Pro tips though, double tick at 20 seconds and gadgets can also use the power refund supercharge from the iconic power if they want something a little more instant.

Power Crit Chance > Vit. With the Vit stats on gear and folks having power back mechanics, there's less need to stack Vit. Those crit chances are massive, though. I've always argued for getting the crit chances first. Also...double ticking. Is that a lost art? Not a bad starting point for beginners. Left out the other 2 debuffs, and I would argue that it's more important to be aware of the content and rotate in the debuff you need for the specific instance. (Gates and Prime used to need Healing Debuffs at level...Damage Debuff is useful in at-level content.) Usually, you won't have to have a specific "crowd control" spot on your bar, because the debuffs act as CC moves. But picking CC powers...good trolls know the difference between a hard stun and a soft stun. A hard stun means the enemy won't move from that position until they break out. A soft stunned enemy can be pulled by a tank. I would argue that you should run with soft stuns always...if you use a hard stun, do so sparingly, especially when running with a tank...messes with his/her ability to group things.

+farm3rb0b I of course bow to your knowledge of the role being superior to mine. lol Everything you mentioned is really good things to know about the Controller role, but I, personally, would classify as more advanced tactics than basic ones. Especially for new players and some that I've come across in the game in pug groups. I've run into a couple in Demon's Plan that thought they were performing the Controller role just by switching to Controller stance. :(

+Zargon7 Yes, you're right, that's a good way to utilize the UI. Most people seem to think only a defense debuff is necessary. All I'm saying is there are instances where a damage debuff helps alleviate damage on the tank and a healing debuff is necessary when adds heal the boss.

What makes brawling better than martial arts? Both have shuriken storm right? Do mastery combos do more damage or something, do they have an additional effect? I still don't get why trolls prefer brawling over martial arts. Can someone elaborate please?

Enemy NPCs, like our own characters, build up a resistance to crowd control effects after a while.

Can you please tell me what the L2(circle) And L2(Square) do? Also question about Quantum trolling: Which debuffs should be in my loadout? All 3? Or just the lower defense one?

The L2(Square) button is where I normally put the defense debuff power at. L2 (Circle) is where I usually put a crowd control power or the damage or heal debuff power. The defense debuff is a power you should always have in your loadout. For boss fights, I like to put the damage debuff on as well to reduce the damage the boss is doing or for those bosses that can heal themselves I put a heal debuff on instead. For adds, you don't need all three on your bar, but for boss fights you should at least take two.

Dj Otsirave Well, don't quote me haha. I'm a 188 Celestial healer, healing and trolling are kind of the same thing.. Except 1 is health and the other is power. If you have 2 healers in an 8-man, one focuses on the big heals and the other focuses on the small burst heals. Same with trolls, one focuses on debuffs while the other tries their best to "recharge" the group as frequently as possible :)

im new to DCUO... question 1: can we turn off all the pixel bullshit in this game? all i see are flying names and numbers when i play. kinda annoying and every other game i play lets me turn that off. question 2: Can we resize the actionbar? its fuking huge and covers too much of the game. hate it. question 3: Could you please explain more about the Hit Counter? I got a feat for raising it above a 100 but otherwise im not sure how it affects combat. thanks all

+Desiggn Freek 1: There is a setting for effects in the settings menu that can turn down the effects but this could hinder you from being able to see AoEs and attacks that you need to avoid. 2: There is a setting for scaling in the settings menu. 3: The hit counter helps to determine when your personal power regen starts. With Brawling, it starts at 5, or when the numbers turn blue. Other weapons work the same way but have a higher hit counter you have to reach.

DC would have done sooo much better with PC players with a real interface. Nothin like greeting players with options frustration to begin the game to really capture subscribers
